<p>CANAL WINCHESTER LOCAL SCHOOLS</p> <p>CLASSIFICATION: CLASSIFIED</p> <p>TITLE: VAN DRIVER</p> <p>QUALIFICATIONS:</p> <ul> <li>High School diploma or GED required </li><li>Must be at least 21 years of age with a minimum of two years driving experience </li><li>Hold a valid Ohio driver's license </li><li>Maintain safe driving record pursuant to O.A.C. 3301-83-06 (F)(2) </li><li>Physically capable of completing the daily pre-trip/post-trip inspection </li><li>Physical capability of safely and appropriately lifting and managing preschool and special needs children when necessary </li><li>Ability to cope with stressful situations as related to preschool and special needs children </li><li>Ability to complete required preservice and annual in-service requirements </li></ul> <p>REPORTS TO: DIRECTOR OF TRANSPORTATION</p> <p>PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ol> <li>Safely drives a school van on days when school is in session over designated routes in accordance with time schedules, </li></ol> <p>loading and unloading students at designated locations.</p> <ol start="2"> <li> <p>Transports students, teachers and others on school field or activity trips.</p> </li><li> <p>Inspects assigned van on a daily basis prior to transporting of passengers to ensure that van is in good, clean and</p> </li></ol> <p>safe condition.</p> <ol start="4"> <li> <p>Cleans and refuels van as needed.</p> </li><li> <p>Reports all mechanical deficiencies, traffic violations, or accidents, promptly.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintains order an proper discipline of student passengers according to district policy.</p> </li><li> <p>Maintains and submits records and reports as required.</p> </li><li> <p>Follows all laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures to ensure student safety.</p> </li><li> <p>Attends driver training programs as it applies to the operation of vehicles in the transportation of school children</p> </li></ol> <p>10.Establish and maintain positive and cooperative professional relationships with students, parents, co-workers, and</p> <p>administration enhancing the overall safety and efficiency of the school transportation system.</p> <ol start="11"> <li>Performs other related tasks as assigned. </li></ol> <p>Terms of Employment.</p> <ul> <li>Nine (9) month contract </li></ul> <p>SALARY: Classified Salary Schedule - Category 4</p> <p>EVALUATION: Annually by the Director of Transportation</p>
