FirstService Energy offers customized and cost-effective efficiency solutions, energy purchasing programs, data services, and more to reduce the carbon emissions, compliance requirements, and operating costs of properties managed by FirstService Residential.</p> <p>As more states, cities, and provinces are enacting legislation to control energy emissions from buildings, it is critical that our management team and clients have a resource they can turn to that will help them through this process.</p> <p>Experience being part of a high-performing team with a fulfilling career in property management with FirstService Residential.</p> <p>Job Responsibilities</p> <p>The Energy Efficiency Analyst will work with multiple stakeholders to assist FirstService Energy and FirstService Residential continue to provide our value-added and professional energy management services to our managed clients.</p> <p>This role will report to the South Region Energy Advisor of FirstService Energy and provide support to the energy program established in the South Region. This individual will work directly and indirectly with building staff, board members/trustees, and property managers to advise on strategies to reduce energy consumption, utility costs, and greenhouse gas emissions.</p> <p>This individual will be responsible for supporting programs that will help our clients reduce carbon and costs in the FirstService Residential South Region.</p> <p>A successful candidate will be expected to meet the following criteria and be able to perform the duties outlined below.</p> <p>Essential Duties & Responsibilities</p> <p>As an ideal candidate you/you're</p> <ul> <li>passionate about the environment and reducing energy/carbon from buildings. </li><li>have an entrepreneurial spirit </li><li>knowledgeable in energy management and carbon reduction strategies in multifamily/condominium/high-rise/ residential buildings. </li><li>have strong interpersonal skills in order to build great relationships with internal and external individuals/teams. </li><li>thrive on finding solutions and presenting ideas. </li><li>have knowledge of electric vehicles & charging technology. </li><li>able to interpret energy utility data and calculate energy/carbon savings. </li><li>have an understanding of multifamily/condominium/high-rise building mechanical systems (heating, cooling, domestic hot water, terminal units etc.) </li><li>have worked with and/or have knowledge of utility and state incentive programs. </li><li>have knowledge of local energy regulations and ordinances in your region. </li><li>are comfortable presenting technical energy information in-person and virtually to varied audiences including; external client board members, internal associates, and public stakeholders. </li><li>able to work independently and in a team to accomplish goals/targets. </li><li>open minded which allows you to embrace a culture of continuous learning and sharing of ideas. </li></ul> <p>This position will perform the following duties;</p> <ul> <li>Provide support to the South Region Energy Advisor </li><li>Help recommend ways to reduce energy, carbon, and costs to residential properties. </li><li>Set-up local vendor relationships to assist our managed buildings with energy project implementation. </li><li>Partner with municipalities and local NGO's to further network within the region for FirstService Energy and FirstService Residential. </li><li>Assist FirstService Residential with new business meetings/pitches as requested. </li><li>Attend board meetings as requested (potentially at night and in-person) to review/pitch energy offerings. </li><li>Create target lists of buildings based on high energy spend and/or energy usage and actively work with them to provide services. </li><li>Assist with building typology information knowledge for analysis, cataloging, and benchmarking. </li><li>Develop high ROI/prescriptive measure programs for the region that will help drive energy reduction. </li><li>Represent FirstService Energy at local industry related events. </li><li>Provide ad-hoc assistance/guidance for energy and building operation needs to our management teams. </li><li>Assist and attend special internal and external events as needed. </li><li>Assist and provide subject matter expertise on special projects or program development. </li><li>Assist with educational events in the region on carbon reduction, technologies, local ordinances, energy purchasing at least 4 times a year. </li><li>Assist the procurement team with procurement sales in the market. </li><li>Assist the benchmarking/data teams as needed. </li></ul> <p>Supervisory Responsibilities</p> <p>None</p> <p>Education & Experience</p> <ul> <li>Undergraduate Degree in Engineering, Sustainability, or another related field; </li><li>3+ years' experience working in building operations, sustainability, energy auditing/consulting; </li><li>Achieve CEA certification within the first year of employment. </li><li>Energy Related Certifications: BPI, LEED O&M, Gpro Certification, CEM </li><li>Energy and Project Management Related Software's: EnergyCap, EnergyStar Portfolio Manager, Tableau, ClickUp, Monday.com </li><li>Property Management experience </li></ul> <p>Knowledge, Skills & Proficiencies</p> <ul> <li>Must have strong computers and systems knowledge and proficiency. </li><li>Excellent customer service skills. </li><li>Respond with a sense of urgency to all customers. </li><li>Strong verbal and written communication skills. </li><li>Attention to detail and strong organizational skills. </li><li>Ability to work with sensitive or confidential information. </li><li>Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure. </li><li>Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently and be self-driven </li><li>Critical thinking, problem solving, judgment and decision making abilities. </li><li>Able to work in person out of our Atlanta, GA office 3 days per week. The other 2 days the associate will have the option to work remotely (based on performance); </li><li>Must be familiar with all elements of building mechanical systems (cooling, heating, DHW & distribution systems); </li><li>Must be available to attend evening board meetings and special events after 5:00 pm; </li><li>Strong working knowledge of building science theory, engineering, multifamily operations and maintenance. </li></ul> <p>Tools & Equipment Used</p> <p>Computer and peripherals, standard and customized software applications and tools, and usual office equipment.</p> <p>Physical Requirements & Working Environment</p> <p>This position works under usual office conditions. The employee is required to work at a personal computer as well as be on the phone for extended periods of time. Must be able to stand, sit, walk and occasionally climb. The incumbent must be able to work extended and flexible hours and weekends as needed.
