<p>Title Visiting Lecturer in Management Information Systems Appointment Status Non-Tenure Track Department IU Northwest School of Business & Economics Location Northwest Position Summary</p> <p>The School of Business & Economics at Indiana University Northwest welcomes applications for the position of Visiting Lecturer of Management Information Systems with an anticipated start date of Fall 2026. This is a 10-month full-time, non-tenure-track academic appointment with potential for reappointment.</p> <p>The position is responsible for teaching four courses each semester in Management Information Systems and related courses at the undergraduate level and at the graduate level if the successful candidate holds a doctorate or terminal degree. Undergraduate teaching load may include courses such as BUS-K 211: Introduction to Information Systems for Business, BUS-K 321: Management of Information Technology, and BUS-K 353: Business Analytics & Modeling among others. A productive program of professional development is expected, along with active involvement in service functions.</p> <p>The IU Northwest School of Business & Economics employs 15 full-time faculty, and its programs are fully accredited by the AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International). Faculty are engaged in teaching and research that is applied, basic, or pedagogic. Faculty also support the economic development of the region by engaging in mutually beneficial collaborations with local organizations and community members.</p> <p>ABOUT INDIANA UNIVERSITY NORTHWEST</p> <p>One of nine campuses of Indiana University, IU Northwest is located in metropolitan Northwest Indiana, approximately 30 miles southeast of Chicago and 10 miles from the Indiana Dunes National Park. The campus has a student population of approximately 3,200 degree-seeking students and more than 30,000 alumni, most of whom remain in the Northwest Indiana</p> <p>region, and has been recognized by the Department of Education as a minority and Hispanic serving institution. The campus offers Associate, Baccalaureate, and Master's degrees from the College of Arts and Sciences, the College of Health and Human Services, the School of Business and Economics, the School of the Arts, and the School of Education. The campus is also home to IU School of Medicine-Northwest-Gary, the region's only four-year medical doctorate program. As a student-centered campus, IU Northwest is committed to academic excellence characterized by a love of ideas and achievement in learning, discovery, creativity, research and community engagement.</p> <p>Basic Qualifications</p> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>An earned master's degree in Management Information Systems, Business Administration with a focus on Management Information Systems, or related field from an accredited institution. </li><li>Industry experience related to Management Information Systems. </li><li>Experience using and applying modern technology systems and software in a business or professional environment. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>An earned doctorate in Management Information Systems, or related field from an accredited institution. </li><li>Industry experience and/or certifications, especially in the areas of Cybersecurity or Generative AI. </li><li>Experience in corporate training or teaching at the collegiate level on Management Information Systems topics. </li><li>Experience in corporate training or teaching at the collegiate level in a variety of delivery methods, including face-to-face, hybrid, and online. </li><li>Evidence of engagement with community, municipal, private-sector and non-profit groups. </li><li>Demonstrated interest and ability in working with underserved and under-resourced students. </li><li>Ability to communicate clearly, effectively, professionally and respectfully. </li></ul> <p>Department Contact for Questions</p> <p>Questions regarding the position or application process can be directed to Jaclyn Barkow, Chair of the Search and Screen Committee, Indiana University Northwest, 3400 Broadway, Gary, IN 46408, jbarkow@iu.edu.</p> <p>Additional Qualifications</p> <p>All candidates must be eligible to work in the United States as of the position start date.
