<p>We are seeking a passionate and dedicated High School Math Teacher to join our faculty. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning, teaching, and assessing math lessons aligned with state standards, ranging from Algebra I to Calculus or Statistics. The teacher will foster a supportive and engaging learning environment that encourages critical thinking, problem-solving, and a lifelong interest in mathematics. Essential Functions:</p> <ul> <li>Develop lesson plans based on the Ohio learning standards for math </li><li>Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials and facilities </li><li>Demonstrate knowledge of subject matter and present clear, complete, and accurate explanations utilizing a variety of instructional techniques and media suitable to the level of learners </li><li>Utilize demonstrations, lectures, and discussions to teach theories and skills in math courses </li><li>Teach and evaluate the students using sound instructional practices </li><li>Effectively manage the classroom and individual student behavior to maintain a good learning environment </li><li>Prepare clear and timely lesson plans </li><li>Maintain accurate and complete records as required </li><li>Provide guidance to students which will promote their welfare and their proper educational development </li><li>Ensure students are learning all subject material by testing, quizzing and evaluating student projects on a regular basis </li><li>Notify parents if student is not meeting classroom goals </li><li>Maintain respect at all times for confidential information, e.g., student grades, family history </li></ul> <p>Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Valid Ohio Adolescence to Young Adult (7-12) License for Integrated Math </li><li>Bachelors or advanced degree </li><li>Ability to work well with young people and provide a positive influence on their educational experience </li><li>Ability to work cooperatively with local district, community, parents and students </li><li>A willingness to engage in voluntary professional development activities </li><li>High personal and professional standards CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: </li><li>Effective Date: 2025-2026 School Year </li><li>Length of Employment: One year limited contract </li><li>Salary: Based on current negotiated salary schedule with appropriate experience and training </li><li>Fringe Benefits: Based on current negotiated agreement </li></ul> <p>PROCEDURE: If interested, submit a letter of interest, resume, current BCI & FBI check, teaching certificate/license, and a list of references to Superintendent Maureen Taggart at Maureen.taggart@torontocityschools.com.
