<p>Job Responsibilities</p> <p>Job Purpose</p> <p>Full-time Program Director to coordinate scheduling and adjunct instructors, teach classes, and provide leadership for the Patient Care Technician certificate; to develop curriculum, courses, and competency-based materials; counsel students with academic, career, and personal needs; to advise students for registration; to perform College and community service; and to perform academic and college administrative duties.</p> <p>Job Functions</p> <p>Instructional Development</p> <p>1.Work with members of the Advisory Committee to participate in planning for new and existing courses.</p> <p>2.Assist in the development of curricula for students in the Patient Care Technician Certificate.</p> <p>3.Evaluate courses in the Patient Care Technician curricula.</p> <p>4.Assist in the development and refinement of curricula for the Patient Care Technician Certificate.</p> <p>Teaching Performance</p> <p>1.Teach courses as assigned and in accordance with the established syllabi.</p> <p>2.Provide high quality instruction for students in the Patient Care Technician Certificate.</p> <p>3.Evaluate the accomplishments of students on a regular basis.</p> <p>4.Participate in the Faculty Performance Management System.</p> <p>5.Achieve at least a 2.5 on student evaluations and satisfactory peer/supervisor evaluations.</p> <p>Student Advisement</p> <p>1.Work with the Student Services Division in the recruitment, admission and retention of students and cooperate with the division to utilize counseling services.</p> <p>2.Advise and maintain records of assigned student advisees in accordance with the School of Health Sciences and TCL policy and procedures.</p> <p>3.Provide effective academic achievement for students enrolled in the Patient Care Technician Certificate.</p> <p>4.Maintain office hours as required and needed by students, faculty, and advisees.</p> <p>Professional Development</p> <p>1.Represent the School of Health Sciences and the College by participating in community and professional meetings.</p> <p>2.Attend relevant professional meetings.</p> <p>3.Maintain a current awareness of educational innovations and trends appropriate for Patient Care Technicians.</p> <p>4.Engage and complete the required minimal continuing professional development to maintain licensure/certification.</p> <p>College/Community Service</p> <p>1.Actively participate in activities to select, recruit, admit and retain students.</p> <p>2.Maintain contacts with appropriate professional and community organizations/individuals in the college service area.</p> <p>3.Serve actively on college committees.</p> <p>4.Participate in School of Health Science's meetings as assigned.</p> <p>5.Participate in marketing activities for the Patient Care Technician Certificate.</p> <p>6.Work cooperatively with other School of Health Sciences faculty members and college departments to meet the educational needs of students.</p> <p>Instructional Management</p> <p>1.Maintain proper control and effective use of all physical facilities and supplies.</p> <p>2.Prepare reports in cooperation with School of Health Sciences Dean for input into the planning/reporting system.</p> <p>3.Develop and administer student regulations within the program and school in a fair and equitable manner.</p> <p>4.Ensure communication of policies, procedures, and campus information to all students.</p> <p>5.Perform additional duties, as assigned by the School of Health Sciences Dean.</p> <p>6.Review and approve purchase requests prior to submission to the dean.</p> <p>7.Oversee Patient Care Technician class schedule and adjunct preparation.</p> <p>8.Prepare budgets in cooperation with School of Health Sciences Dean.</p> <p>Minimum and Additional Requirements</p> <p>Possess an active license as a Registered Nurse (RN) with a minimum of two (2) years' experience including at least one (1) year in the provision of long term care nursing services within the last five (5) years.</p> <p>Additional Comments</p> <p>The Technical College of the Lowcountry seeks to be the first choice for higher education in South Carolina's Low Country Region.
