<p>Westfield Public Schools is seeking an Assistant Principal for Southampton Road Elementary School, starting in the Fall of 2025.</p> <p>RESPONSIBILITIES:</p> <ul> <li>Be responsible for the successful performance of such functions as assigned by the principal in accordance with policy and practice as determined by the Superintendent and School Committee. </li><li>Be assigned such duties to most advantageously use the particular talents, background, and expertise of the assistant principal by the building principal. </li><li>Be responsible for teacher evaluation as delegated by the principal. </li><li>Work with teachers as it relates to the improvement of instruction, curriculum development, and the development of responsible student behavior. </li><li>Be responsible for working closely with the principal, and staff in designing the master schedule. </li><li>Assist the principal in the overall administration and discipline of the school. </li><li>Serve as principal in the absence of the regular principal. </li><li>Propose schedules of classes and extracurricular activities. </li><li>Supervise the preparation of student schedules. </li><li>Work with faculty in compiling the annual budget requests. </li><li>Requisition supplies, textbooks, and equipment, conducting inventories, maintaining records, and checking in on receipts for such material. </li><li>Assist in the conducting of safety inspections and safety drill practice activities. </li><li>Assume responsibility for coordinating transportation, custodial, cafeteria, and other support services. </li><li>Supervise the reporting and monitoring of student attendance. </li><li>Assist in maintaining discipline throughout the student body, and deal with special cases as necessary. </li><li>Serve with parent, faculty, and student groups as requested in advancing educational and related activities and objectives. </li><li>Perform such record-keeping functions as the principal may direct. </li><li>Supervise teachers and departments as assigned by the principal. </li><li>Perform any other duties that may be assigned by the building principal or the Superintendent of Schools. </li></ul> <p>REPORTS TO: Principal</p> <p>EVALUATION: Performance on this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Westfield School Committee policy on evaluation.</p> <p>SALARY: The salary and terms of conditions will be in accordance with the provisions of the Westfield Public Schools Unit B contract. Salary placement will be based on information contained in the application as submitted.</p> <p>This position is contingent upon funding.</p>
