<p>The Curriculum and Instruction Coach will be held accountable for the following responsibilities:</p> <ol> <li>Develop a coaching framework for the Network that focuses to improve instruction and learning across </li></ol> <p>the Network in all content areas</p> <ol> <li>Collaborate with school administration, teacher leaders, and teachers to support high quality instruction </li></ol> <p>throughout the school</p> <ol start="2"> <li> <p>To support the Network and school vision around high quality instruction</p> </li><li> <p>Coach teachers in effective instructional practices through modeling, coaching, mentoring and</p> </li></ol> <p>co-teaching</p> <ol start="4"> <li>Partner with school's Instructional Leadership Team, Literacy Team and administration to assist in the </li></ol> <p>implementation of the school-wide plan to improve instruction and learning</p> <ol start="5"> <li> <p>Identify Professional Development needs for teachers and teacher teams.</p> </li><li> <p>Provide in-service training and follow-up coaching to assist classroom teachers in the use of</p> </li></ol> <p>instructional strategies</p> <ol start="7"> <li> <p>Research and prepare materials for professional development</p> </li><li> <p>Established a relationship of trust and confidentiality with the teachers</p> </li><li> <p>Work with teachers individually, in Teacher Collaborative Teams (Course Teams) and/or within</p> </li></ol> <p>Departments, providing support on a full range of instructional strategies</p> <ol start="10"> <li> <p>Observe and provide feedback to teachers on instructional strategies</p> </li><li> <p>Assist teachers with the planning, sequencing and scaffolding of instruction</p> </li><li> <p>Assist classroom teachers with analysis of school-level and classroom level formal (Interim) and</p> </li></ol> <p>informal assessment data</p> <ol start="13"> <li> <p>Assist classroom teachers with the analysis of student work</p> </li><li> <p>Working with IDS coaches (where available) to collaborate and strengthen areas of concern within</p> </li></ol> <p>the delivery of the curriculum</p> <ol start="15"> <li> <p>Assist the IDS coaches with improving the quality of instruction in the delivery of the curriculum</p> </li><li> <p>Any other duties assigned by the Network Chief</p> </li></ol> <p>In order to be successful and achieve the above responsibilities, the Curriculum and Instruction</p> <p>Coach must possess the following qualifications:</p> <p>Education Required:</p> <p>? Minimum of 2 years teaching experience; Bachelor's degree.</p> <p>? Valid ISBE Teaching Certificate; Coaching experience and/or training</p> <p>Experience Required:</p> <p>? Curriculum planning aligned to College Readiness Standards</p> <p>? Protocols Coarse- team Collaboration</p> <p>? Data analysis</p> <p>? Re-teaching strategies using differentiated instruction with whole class, small group and individuals ?</p> <p>Facilitation of Professional development</p> <p>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:</p> <p>? Ability to articulate a vision, set high standards, and effectively guide schools and principals in the</p> <p>realization of expectations set</p> <p>? Expertise in leadership development and instructional leadership. Ability to coach directors and</p> <p>managers toward excellence, build capacity of content area teams and develop meaningful and high</p> <p>impact professional communities for teachers and school leaders</p> <p>? Strong communication skills (speaking - including presentations - listening, and writing) ?</p> <p>Demonstrate high levels of instructional expertise, integrity, honesty, credibility, and the courage to</p> <p>make difficult yet necessary decisions</p> <p>? Effective strategic planning capabilities, including the ability to establish long-term vision and goals, and</p> <p>align/manage activities toward goal fulfillment</p> <p>? Strong leadership and team building skills, e.g. ability to develop high performing teams united around</p> <p>a clear vision for serving schools and achieving student success</p> <p>? Knowledge of operations, budget/finance, management and organizational development ? Ability</p> <p>to build collaborative relationships with a variety of constituent groups, including external partners,</p> <p>to ensure the entire system operates in the most effective manner possible to support schools and</p> <p>principals</p> <p>? Ability to define problems, analyze data, and outline valid conclusions and action steps</p> <p>Conditions of Employment</p> <p>As a condition of employment with the Chicago Public Schools (CPS), employees are required to:</p> <p>? Establish/Maintain Chicago Residency - Employees are required to live within the geographic</p> <p>boundaries of the City of Chicago within six months of their CPS hire date and maintain residency</p> <p>throughout their employment with the district.</p> <p>? Be Fully Vaccinated or Submit to Weekly COVID-19 Testing - Employees are required to be fully</p> <p>vaccinated within 30 days of their hire date. Full vaccination is defined as at least two weeks after</p> <p>your second shot of a two-shot vaccination course, or at least two weeks after a one-shot vaccination</p> <p>course.
