<p>Reports to: Director of Data and Analytics</p> <p>Position Overview:</p> <p>The Senior Compensation Analyst will play a key role in the development, implementation, and administration of compensation programs at Boston Public Schools. This position will involve conducting compensation analysis, supporting the development of competitive salary structures, and ensuring that compensation practices are aligned with the district's goals and objectives. The Senior Compensation Analyst will work closely with district leadership, OHR leadership, department managers, and external consultants to ensure equitable, competitive, and compliant compensation practices for all staff.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Conduct market research and compensation benchmarking to determine competitive pay structures for various employee groups. </li><li>Provide data-driven recommendations on salary adjustments, pay scales, and compensation policies. </li><li>Analyze internal equity, external competitiveness, and budgetary constraints to support compensation decisions. </li><li>Review and update compensation structures as needed to ensure alignment with district objectives and labor market trends. </li><li>Lead the compensation and classification committee </li><li>Review and evaluate job descriptions and classifications to ensure accuracy and consistency across the district. </li><li>Conduct job evaluations to determine appropriate salary grades, ensuring equity and compliance with applicable laws and regulations. </li><li>Assist in the development and maintenance of a job classification system that supports the district's objectives. </li><li>Prepare and present reports related to compensation trends, equity studies, salary structures, and internal audits. </li><li>Assist with audits and data requests related to compensation matters, providing accurate information in a timely manner. </li><li>Advise managers on departments on compensation policies, practices, and legal requirements. </li><li>Maintain and update compensation-related data in the HRIS system. </li><li>Support the implementation of compensation-related tools and systems to streamline processes and improve efficiency. </li><li>Develop clear, concise, and informative communication materials related to compensation for internal distribution. </li><li>Monitor district wide reporting structures and internal reorganizations to maintain equitable salaries across the organization </li><li>Perform audit of school-based managerial job descriptions and salaries to propose a compensation structure that ensures equity and parity across schools </li></ul> <p>Qualifications - Required:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Finance, Business Administration of other relevant field </li><li>Minimum of 3 years experience in compensation </li><li>Working knowledge of PeopleSoft </li><li>Ability to apply mathematical formulation to develop solutions to quantitative problems </li><li>Strong project management skills </li><li>Knowledge of compensation-related regulations, including FLSA, Equal Pay Act, and other applicable labor laws. </li><li>Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and effectively. </li><li>Aptitude for learning new systems and technologies </li></ul> <p>Qualifications - Preferred:</p> <ul> <li>Masters Degree </li><li>3+ years of compensation experience in a union based environment </li><li>Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) or Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification </li></ul> <p>Terms: Managerial, C53.</p> <p>The Boston Public Schools, in accordance with its nondiscrimination policies, does not discriminate in its programs, facilities, employment, or educational opportunities on the basis of race, color, age, criminal record (inquiries only), disability, homelessness, sex/gender, gender identity, religion, national origin, ancestry, sexual orientation, genetics or military status and does not tolerate any form of retaliation, or bias-based intimidation, threat or harassment that demeans individuals' dignity or interferes with their ability to learn or work.</p>
