<p>Job Description</p> <p>To support our continued success and growth in New England, CDM Smith is looking for an experienced and motivated bridge engineer to join our growing bridge group. The candidate shall provide technical leadership on a diverse range of bridge projects in New England. The candidate will lead and participate in all phases of bridge design ranging from scoping and preparation of final plans, specifications and estimates (PS&E) to construction engineering services.</p> <p>Our team focuses on delivering innovative and quality designs of bridges and structures for clients throughout New England and the Northeast. Our bridge projects range from simple to complex signatures bridges. We utilize the latest technologies in bridge design and inspection. Our projects involve most project delivery methods including Design-Bid-Build, Design-Build, and Construction Management-At-Risk. We are at the forefront of bridge engineering and utilize the latest technologies and accelerated bridge construction (ABC) techniques for bridge replacement and rehabilitation projects.</p> <ul> <li>The selected candidate shall be a key member of the bridge design team and should have the willingness to contribute to the growth of the bridge team in Massachusetts and New England through strong, technical leadership and production of high-quality designs.. </li></ul> <p>Typical work will include the following;</p> <ul> <li>Design of various types of Bridge Structures including steel, concrete, post-tensioned and prestressed concrete. </li><li>Design various structures, such as retaining walls, gantries, and foundations. </li><li>Bridge Load Ratings. </li><li>Inspection of Bridges and Culverts. </li></ul> <p>Employment Type</p> <p>Regular</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Civil, Architectural or Structural Engineering or related discipline. </li><li>Professional engineering (PE) license. </li><li>7 years of related experience. </li><li>Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands. </li><li>Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>PE license in Massachusetts. </li><li>PE in Connecticut, New Hampshire with ability to get reciprocity a plus. </li><li>Massachusetts SE. </li><li>7+years of MassDOT bridge design experience. </li><li>Working knowledge in AutoCAD and/or Microstation /OpenBridge. </li><li>Working knowledge of structural modeling software, such as STAAD, CSI Bridge, MIDAS, AASHTOWare, or Larsa 4D. </li><li>Experience with NHDOT, CTDOT, RIDOT, Massport, and/or MBTA structural design projects. </li><li>Strong writing and verbal communication skills. </li><li>Experience with movable bridge designs. </li><li>Experience with tunnel design or analysis. </li></ul> <p>#LI-MS1</p> <p>#LI-HYBRID</p>
