<p>We have an incredible opportunity for a dynamic, energetic, and eager Jr Pastry Production Supervisor in New York Team! Responsibilities: Support and oversee the daily operations of the Pastry Department, with a specialized focus on fruit cutting, preparation, and decorative fruit design for high-end pastry and dessert production. Supervise and guide a team of fruit cutters and pastry production staff, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and timeliness in all tasks. Ensure all fruit products are prepared, handled, and presented according to company quality standards, production specifications, and established deadlines. Maintain strict compliance with food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards, including HACCP, FDA regulations, and proper PPE usage. Actively participate in hands-on production, setting an example for best practices in knife skills, fruit handling, portioning, and design techniques. Assist the Food Production Manager and Pastry Leadership with daily planning, workflow organization, and staffing support for the fruit cutting and design section. Train new team members on proper fruit preparation techniques, safety procedures, quality expectations, and departmental standards. Monitor product quality and presentation, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions when necessary. Identify operational challenges within the section and recommend solutions to improve efficiency, productivity, and waste reduction. Coordinate with inventory and production teams to ensure proper receipt, storage, rotation, and availability of fresh fruit and supplies. Collaborate effectively with other pastry and production departments to ensure seamless execution of service and production goals. Accurately complete required documentation related to production, quality control, inventory, and food safety. Uphold DO & CO standards and perform additional duties as assigned by management. Qualifications: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required; culinary, pastry, or hospitality-related education preferred. Minimum of 2 years of supervisory or lead experience in a high-volume pastry, food production, or food manufacturing environment, with hands-on experience in fruit cutting, preparation, and presentation. Demonstrated expertise in professional fruit handling, knife skills, portioning, and decorative fruit design within a pastry or dessert-focused setting. Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced production environment. Hands-on leadership style with the ability to work with urgency while maintaining attention to detail and quality standards. Solid knowledge of culinary terminology, production workflows, and food safety practices. Working knowledge of HACCP and general food safety standards required. Proficient in basic computer applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and related systems. Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively within a diverse team. Ability to work long hours on foot and in environments with varying temperatures. Flexibility to work different shifts (including nights, weekends, and holidays) based on business needs. What We Offer: Pay range: $25.00 - $28.00 hourly.
