<p>Position Information</p> <p>Position Availability: Position Title: Information Desk Assistant - The New School Student Hub (FWS) Requisition Number: 0406073699 Location New York City Position Type: Student Department: CA/Student Success Responsibilities:</p> <p>Reporting to the Assistant Director of Student Leadership & Centers, Information Desk Assistants will support the purpose and mission of The Student Hub and the division of Student Success within The New School. This position primarily focuses on the operational and logistical support of The Student Hub and University-wide Events, Programs, and Initiatives.</p> <p>Student Success is dedicated to providing you with a dynamic student life experience that complements your curricular experiences and cultivates your intellectual curiosity. The New School recognizes and values the benefits of a diverse workforce.</p> <p>RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <ul> <li>Staff The Student Hub's front desk by triaging visitors, managing space bookings via Google Suite, and providing resources, referrals, campus directions, etc. </li><li>Assist and support booking and equipment requests, transferring submissions to internal systems, troubleshooting overlaps or specialized needs, and maintaining hourly shift logs for team transparency. </li><li>Aid in printing and tech services maintenance, including troubleshooting, supply replenishment, vendor communication, and setup/supervision of audio-visual equipment for events. </li><li>Support administrative communications by answering calls/emails, managing event registrations, and promoting programs via The Student Hub's platforms (website, monitors, social media, etc.). </li><li>Assist with event logistics such as check-in, equipment handling, space setup, and pre/post-event communications, while representing The Student Hub as event support staff. </li><li>Contribute to campus engagement by uplifting student-led initiatives, fostering collaborations across student/staff/community groups, and participating in major university-wide events. </li><li>Support internal operations including inventory management, organizing storage and desk materials, maintaining lost & found, and recommending future equipment purchases. </li><li>Engage in team development through training, meetings, onboarding new staff, and maintaining confidentiality with high standards of customer service in all interactions. </li><li>Other duties as assigned. </li><li></li></ul> <p>WORK MODE</p> <p>In-Person - Employees hired for this position have regularly scheduled, consistent time on campus and must report in-person to The Student Hub front desk in order to satisfy all job requirements.</p> <p>SALARY RANGE</p> <p>$16-$19/hr</p> <p>SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS TO APPLICANTS</p> <p>To be considered: Through the career portal, please provide your financial aid award letter, and an up-to-date resume.</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>This Position requires a Federal Work-Study Award </li><li>Must be proficient in Google Suite applications (G-cal, G-chat, G-sheets, G-forms, etc.) </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to creatively problem solve, multi-task, and function in a collaborative work environment. </li><li>Capacity to provide and receive constructive critique to improve job performance. </li><li>This position in the context of Equipment Management and Organization frequently needs to traverse multiple levels of stairs and ladders, position oneself into various levels for reaching items, and move boxes weighing up to 20 pounds across offices, campus locations, and storage spaces for various needs. </li></ul> <p>Job Family: Student Services Department Posting Date: 08/20/2025 Closing Date: 09/30/2025 Open Until Filled No</p>
