We're looking for a Manager of Safety & Physical Security to lead operations across our seven-floor headquarters in NYC - blending thoughtful planning, modern systems, and hospitality-first service to ensure every employee, member, and guest feels confident and cared for.</p> <p>This role is about designing thoughtful systems and environments that make people feel confident, supported, and able to focus on what matters - with safety and ease built into the fabric of the workplace.</p> <p>In this role, you will…</p> <ul> <li>Oversee physical security operations for our 7-floor public and private office, with a focus on maintaining an environment that's secure, welcoming, and seamless. </li><li>Lead the strategy and execution of all security systems and infrastructure - including access control, facial recognition, camera systems, and visitor management tools. </li><li>Manage and elevate our third-party security team - from training and scheduling to overall tone and service - ensuring they operate with warmth, consistency, and a strong sense of presence. </li><li>Partner with Workplace, IT, and Design teams to ensure security elements are thoughtfully integrated into both the physical space and daily operations. </li><li>Own policies and protocols that support employee and visitor safety across regular workdays, VIP visits, and internal events. </li><li>Proactively assess and evolve our safety posture, using technology, culture, and operational excellence to stay ahead of the curve. </li></ul> <p>In terms of qualifications, we're seeking:</p> <ul> <li>Have 7+ years of experience leading physical security in a high-touch environment - hospitality, tech, retail, or similar. </li><li>Experience with security technology (think facial recognition; camera set ups) and experience being the liaison between security and IT. </li><li>Have overseen large, multi-level office spaces or high-traffic public/private environments. </li><li>Know how to use security systems and infrastructure not just to monitor, but to enable - creating smoother, smarter, more intuitive experiences. </li><li>Are thoughtful about how physical security contributes to the broader employee and guest experience - from arrival to exit. </li><li>Operate with calm, clarity, and strong communication. </li><li>Take pride in delivering a consistent, elevated experience every day - from technology performance to team professionalism. </li><li>Want to be part of a workplace that values culture, creativity, and best-in-class operations across every dimension. </li></ul> <p>Benefits:</p> <ul> <li>Compensation - We offer a competitive salary with a meaningful stake in the company via equity and our performance bonus program </li><li>Health insurance for you (& your loved ones) from day one - Enjoy a One Medical Membership, wellness stipends, family programs and more, on us. Leveling will be based upon your experience and performance in the interview process.</p> <p>Where a new hire falls within a range will be based on their individual skills and experience, and how these competencies compare across other employees in the same role. Bilt's bands are designed to allow for individual compensation growth within the role. As such, new hires typically start at the lower end of the range. Bilt rewards performance and outcomes - should you join the company, you will have the opportunity to grow your salary over time.</p> <p>The salary range for a Director, Security Operations is $100,000 - 150,000 and will be eligible for equity and an annual performance-based bonus.</p>
