<p>The Overnight Residential Support Specialist / Counselor provides direct supervision, care, and support for at-risk adolescent males, ages 13-18, in a residential setting. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with experience or education in Social Sciences (Psychology, Sociology, Criminal Justice), Special Education, or those passionate about working with youth to develop and expand their therapeutic, behavioral, and crisis intervention skills.</p> <p>Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Supervise and support youth ages 13-18 overnight and during assigned shifts, maintaining a safe, structured, and positive environment.</p> </li><li> <p>Teach, coach, and counsel youth, serving as a positive role model.</p> </li><li> <p>Respond to crises and behavioral challenges using positive interventions, therapeutic skills, and professional judgment.</p> </li><li> <p>Administer medications as directed and maintain accurate records.</p> </li><li> <p>Track and report behaviors using company systems.</p> </li><li> <p>Assist in maintaining residential homes according to agency and licensing standards.</p> </li><li> <p>Participate in physical interventions when necessary, following proper safety and Pro-ACT procedures.</p> </li><li> <p>Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to support youth care and program goals.</p> </li><li> <p>Perform other duties as assigned.</p> </li></ul> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Bachelor's degree preferred</p> </li><li> <p>Minimum of 1 year working with youth in a residential, community, or school-based program preferred</p> </li><li> <p>Must have valid driver's license</p> </li><li> <p>Excellent communication skills</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to engage positively with youth, de-escalate challenging behaviors, and apply sound judgment</p> </li><li> <p>Reliable, punctual, and able to follow instructions</p> </li><li> <p>Basic computer skills to access emails and learn company tracking systems</p> </li></ul> <p>Overnight Shift :</p> <ul> <li> <p>Thursday: 10:00 pm - 9:00 am</p> </li><li> <p>Friday: 11:00 pm - 11:00 am</p> </li><li> <p>Saturday: 11:00 pm - 11:00 am</p> </li></ul> <p>New Haven Youth and Family Services is an EOE F/M/Disabled/Vet</p>
