<p>Head Coach, Women's Volleyball</p> <p>The Women's Volleyball Head Coach is responsible for providing Christ-centered leadership for the women's volleyball program in alignment with Johnson University's mission, athletic vision, and commitment to holistic student-athlete development. The coach will lead all aspects of the program, ensuring competitive excellence, spiritual mentoring, academic accountability, and the fostering of a healthy, growth-oriented team culture.</p> <p>To apply for this position, please send your resumes to Brandon Perry at [email protected].</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <p>Spiritual & Academic Leadership</p> <ul> <li>Exemplify and teach sound spiritual growth alongside athletic development. </li><li>Mentor and disciple players through life, academic, and athletic challenges. </li><li>Encourage, facilitate, and monitor academic progress for all team members. </li></ul> <p>Coaching & Player Development</p> <ul> <li>Plan, schedule, and lead all practices, skill sessions, strength/conditioning expectations, and game strategies specific to women's volleyball. </li><li>Develop and grow players' technical, tactical, and leadership skills. </li><li>Establish clear expectations regarding team standards, work ethic, and competitive performance. </li></ul> <p>Recruiting</p> <ul> <li>Evaluate and recruit quality student-athletes who align with Johnson University's mission. </li><li>Coordinate recruitment trips, on-campus visits, identification camps, and outreach events. </li><li>Pursue missional recruiting consistent with Johnson's foundational actions. </li></ul> <p>Program Administration</p> <ul> <li>Supervise assistant coaches, graduate assistants, and student workers, including hiring, training, and evaluation. </li><li>Manage program budget and report expenses in a timely manner. </li><li>Coordinate team travel, meal planning, and logistics. </li><li>Ensure proper management and care of volleyball equipment, uniforms, and practice/competition spaces. </li></ul> <p>Camps & Events</p> <ul> <li>Coordinate and grow annual women's volleyball summer camps and clinics. </li><li>Support athletic department recruitment events and other team-led activities. </li></ul> <p>Collaboration & Communication</p> <ul> <li>Communicate and collaborate with campus departments (Admissions, Student Life, Academics, etc.) to support student-athlete success. </li><li>Assist with fundraising initiatives and represent the program at donor or community events. </li><li>Participate in off-season game management for other sports as assigned by the Athletic Director. </li></ul> <p>Sports Information & Media</p> <ul> <li>Assist in management and reporting of program-related sports information, including statistics, social media, and promotional content in partnership with the SID. </li></ul> <p>Compliance</p> <ul> <li>Ensure all actions conform with Johnson University policies, NAIA guidelines, and AAC rules and regulations. </li><li>Maintain exemplary ethical conduct on and off the court. </li></ul> <p>Other Duties</p> <ul> <li>Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by the Athletic Director. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree required. </li><li>One to three years of coaching experience, preferably in collegiate women's volleyball. </li><li>Ability to work evenings, weekends, and travel as required. </li><li>Demonstrated knowledge to evaluate and develop student-athlete volleyball skills. </li><li>Ability to maintain a valid driver's license. </li><li>Strong verbal and written communication skills. </li><li>Strong commitment to the academic, spiritual, and personal success of student-athletes. </li><li>Ability to work collaboratively to uphold the mission, vision, and objectives of Johnson University Athletics. </li></ul> <p>Equal Employment Opportunity Provider</p> <p>Johnson University is a Christian university affiliated with Christian churches and churches of Christ.
