In this strategically critical role, the leader will drive a holistic technical engineering vision with software engineering excellence and clear technical direction to ensure alignment with critical business product goals while also fostering a culture of quality, innovation and excellence within the development community.</p> <p>Subset of responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Create an Application Development vision and strategy that is anchored with a comprehensive technology roadmap while also ensuring ongoing technical skills development of the aligned engineering team members within direct and indirect reporting structures. The vision and strategy focus must have a view of technology trends, emerging capabilities and other innovation to ensure a view into new frameworks and technologies. Together these aspects will drive end-to-end software engineering excellence.</p> </li><li> <p>Define and execute the application development strategy in partnership with peer functions across TS by ensuring it aligns with HPT G&Os and technology roadmaps, including evaluation of new external technology and consideration within the tech stack, development of white papers as necessary and incorporation into our TS service catalog.</p> </li><li> <p>Build and implement strong focus and execution of an AI-enabled SDLC process (with engagement and collaboration from the AI Council)</p> </li><li> <p>Lead, develop, manage and mentor team of software engineers fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture that emphasizes technical excellence, continuous improvement and innovation</p> </li><li> <p>Collaborate with cross functional leaders to ensure seamless integration of applications with existing systems and infrastructure</p> </li><li> <p>Utilize data-driven decision making to inform architectural decisions and optimize application performance in conjunction with the software engineering and application development process</p> </li><li> <p>Drive the identification and adoption of modern development methodologies and practices, including Agile, DevOps, Generative AI, code generation, test automation and CI/CD pipelines to enhance productivity, enable secure by design and reusability of assets, and reduce time-to-market</p> </li><li> <p>Partner within and outside TS to manage relationships with key stakeholders to align priorities and resource allocation</p> </li><li> <p>Build an enterprise Software Engineering / Application Development Community of Practice to reinforce software engineering and testing excellence, development standards and new innovations across the J&J Technology organization that reinforce the SDLC process and lean into its AI-enablement. Baselines will have to be established for standards and best practices to enable ongoing measurement of adoption/consumption and value.</p> </li><li> <p>Create app development and testing curriculum for building and developing talent to ensure ongoing growth and development of our internal talent</p> </li></ul> <p>Tasks/Duties/Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Develop AD and Testing strategy with supporting roadmap of capabilities and services and establish measurement system to enable data driven reporting and decision making; always future proof perspective to ensure roadmap and capability set is refreshed </li><li>Lead, manage, develop and mentor team of Developers and Testers </li><li>Build, develop and drive engineering best practices and standards </li><li>Design, launch and run community of practice </li></ul> <p>Required Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>BS degree in related field Other: Masters Degree in related field, including MBA, MS Computer Science, etc. </li><li>15 years of related experience </li><li>International and Domestic travel required - 10% </li><li>15 years people management experience </li></ul> <p>Johnson & Johnson is an Equal Opportunity Employer. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation's performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company's discretion on an individual basis.</p>
