All of their efforts help facilitate the welcome, inviting and safe environment patients have come to expect at Cleveland Clinic. As a Utility Aide, you will ensure all designated areas are clean and equipment is properly maintained and utilized. While you may not interact with patients directly, your efforts will leaving a positive, lasting impression - from the moment they enter the facility to the time they return home.</p> <p>A caregiver in this role works days from 7:00 a.m. -- 3:30 p.m.</p> <p>A caregiver who excels in this role will:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Clean floors, windowsills, banisters, stairways, lounges, lobby and admitting areas, locker rooms, meeting rooms, doctor's quarters, solarium, corridors and emergency room.</p> </li><li> <p>Strip, scrub and refinish floors.</p> </li><li> <p>Extract, shampoo and bonnet carpets.</p> </li><li> <p>Wash walls, ceilings, lights, windows, casings, cabinets and closets.</p> </li><li> <p>Operate automated floor maintenance equipment, floor scrubbers, floor strippers, rotary low- and high-speed floor machines, vacuums and detail equipment.</p> </li><li> <p>Move furniture, replace windows and draw drapes and shades.</p> </li><li> <p>Answer calls for spills, floods, etc.</p> </li><li> <p>Use and maintain office sweeping tools, mops, wringers, soaps, cleansers and other cleaning equipment.</p> </li><li> <p>Pull trash, infectious waste and needles.</p> </li><li> <p>Transport objects, including office equipment, projectors, blackboards, microphones and other equipment to meeting rooms.</p> </li><li> <p>Clean and wash contaminated rooms.</p> </li></ul> <p>Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Ability to communicate effectively</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions</p> </li></ul> <p>Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:</p> <ul> <li> <p>High School Diploma or GED</p> </li><li> <p>Six months of housekeeping or floor care experience</p> </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to move/transport carts weighing up to or more than 100 pounds (lbs.)</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to move/transport items weighing up to or more than 100 pounds (lbs.)</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to move/transport equipment weighing up to or more than 100 pounds (lbs.)</p> </li><li> <p>Willingness and ability to move and climb ladders and/or scaffolding</p> </li></ul> <p>Personal Protective Equipment:</p> <ul> <li>Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required. </li></ul> <p>Pay Range</p> <p>Salaries [which may be] shown on independent job search websites reflect various market averages and do not represent information obtained directly from The Cleveland Clinic.
