Systems Engineering and Modeling Apply Model-Based Systems Engineering principles, frameworks, and tools (e.g., Cameo Systems Modeler, Enterprise Architect, MagicDraw) to create digital models that simulate system design, performance, and functionality. Develop and maintain system models to support trade studies, requirements analysis, and system verification/validation activities. Translate user needs and mission requirements into detailed system models, ensuring alignment with operational objectives. Support the integration of MBSE tools and techniques into DoD acquisition processes to reduce lifecycle costs and improve system reliability. Development and Integration of System Architectures Design and analyze system architectures, interfaces, and workflows using MBSE methodologies to enhance scalability and modularity within complex systems. Ensure integration with existing DoD systems, platforms, and mission-critical networks while maintaining interoperability and security compliance. Collaborate with software engineers, hardware engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure cohesion between system components. Develop and deliver comprehensive technical documentation, including architectural diagrams, system workflows, and performance analyses. Provide regular briefings to program managers and DoD leadership on project models, simulations, and system behavior outcomes. Conduct quantitative analysis to trace system requirements and align system models with mission needs and program goals. Identify inconsistencies and gaps in requirements, providing recommendations for corrective actions through MBSE tools. Validate and verify modeled architectures against established requirements to ensure systems meet user-defined capabilities. Work closely with cross-functional teams, including system integrators, software developers, cybersecurity professionals, and acquisition personnel. Serve as the MBSE Subject Matter Expert (SME) to mentor junior engineers on best practices and emerging technologies. Act as a trusted advisor to government stakeholders, providing guidance on how MBSE can improve program outcomes and mission readiness. Expertise in MBSE tools, techniques, and modeling languages (e.g., SysML, UML). Comprehensive knowledge of system development lifecycles, DoD acquisition processes, and MIL-STDs. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to evaluate complex systems and optimize performance. Familiarity with DoD cybersecurity frameworks, including RMF, STIGs, and software assurance protocols. Exceptional communication skills to interface effectively with technical teams, leadership, and external stakeholders. Ability to work under pressure, manage competing priorities, and meet strict deadlines in a classified environment. Security Clearance: Active Top Secret clearance with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI). Education: Bachelor's Degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Aerospace Systems, or related field. Advanced degrees are preferred, but equivalent military or professional experience may be considered. Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in systems engineering, including 3+ years applying MBSE methodologies in DoD environments. Proven track record of developing system models for large-scale and mission-critical operations. Certifications: Preferred certifications include Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP), INCOSE MBSE-related certifications, or equivalent credentials. Proficiency in MBSE tools such as Cameo Systems Modeler, MagicDraw, or Enterprise Architect is highly desirable.
