<p>Job Description:</p> <p>The Phlebotomist I is responsible to accurately collect patient specimens for diagnostic testing while working in a professional medical environment. This position functions as part of a dynamic and engaging team with a workload that ranges from fast-paced hospital settings and high/low volume clinics. Caregivers in this role will gain valuable experience and knowledge to help prepare them for workplace and career advancement.</p> <p>Job Specifics:</p> <ul> <li>Part time - 1400-2030 - 4 shifts per week with rotating weekends. </li><li>Location: Intermountain Medical Center </li><li>Benefits Eligible </li><li>Sign on Bonus Eligible - $1750 </li></ul> <p>The Phlebotomist is an experienced phlebotomist with advanced phlebotomy and/or specimen processing skills. In addition to basic Phlebotomist I responsibilities, the Phlebotomist II may act as a Team Lead or Trainer and assist with adverse event investigations, research study coordination, moderate complexity testing, and may fulfill functions of a Coordinator or Supervisor, in their absence.</p> <p>These caregivers compassionately communicate procedures and instructions with patients, family members, and other caregivers and demonstrate empathy during every interaction. The Phlebotomist II may be responsible for deescalating stressful situations calmly and respectfully. They will have opportunities for growth, developing skills such as:</p> <ul> <li>Serving as a patient and clinical staff liaison </li><li>Technical writing </li><li>Downtime planning </li><li>Leading continuous improvement projects </li><li>Other responsibilities as required by site or assigned by the team or department leader </li></ul> <p>Phlebotomist 1</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Basic Life Support certification (BLS)/RQI for healthcare providers. </li><li>Ability to take on-call shifts, according to department needs. </li><li>Must be flexible to work in other facilities, as needed. </li><li>Adheres to all personal protective requirements in inpatient and/or outpatient settings, including, but not limited to, gloves, lab coats, face shields, and masks. </li></ul> <p>Phlebotomist 2</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Basic Life Support certification (BLS)/RQI for healthcare providers. (BLS certifications accepted by Intermountain can be found HERE.) </li><li>Advanced skills and performance typically acquired with experience performing phlebotomy in a clinic or hospital setting </li><li>Experience working in a team environment under stressful situations. </li><li>Self-motivated and experience working independently. </li><li>Flexibility to work a variety of shifts that may include weekends, holidays, and nights. </li><li>Ability to take on call shifts, according to department needs. </li><li>Must be flexible to work at other facilities, as needed. </li><li>Adheres to all personal protective requirements in inpatient and/or outpatient settings, including, but not limited to, gloves, lab coats, face shields, and masks. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Two years' prior phlebotomy experience or one year Intermountain phlebotomy experience </li><li>High School diploma or equivalent as needed for CLIA compliance. </li><li>Previous leadership experience </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Interact with patients, patients' family, patient care providers, and others requiring the employee to verbally communicate information, as well as understand spoken information. </li><li>Operate computers and complex and delicate lab equipment with precision and accuracy requiring the ability to move fingers and hands. </li><li>See and read lab equipment, labels, monitors, and documents. </li><li>Walk while transporting phlebotomy equipment cart. </li><li>Remain standing for long periods of time to perform work. </li><li>Adjust body, including bending, to perform phlebotomy work. </li></ul> <p>Location:</p> <p>Intermountain Health Intermountain Medical Center</p> <p>Work City:</p> <p>Murray</p> <p>Work State:</p> <p>Utah</p> <p>Scheduled Weekly Hours:</p> <p>24</p> <p>The hourly range for this position is listed below.
