<p>The Ohio State Cosmetology and Barber Board is seeking an experienced attorney to provide legal counsel to the Board. This position will perform the following duties:</p> <ul> <li>Provide legal counsel & advice to the Board on legal matters & policy development & implementation relating to legal functions. </li><li>Supervise support staff, assign workload, review work product & oversee development of & enforce policy affecting legal programs (e.g., Administrative procedure required under ORC 119, drafting Notices of Opportunity for Hearing, Orders, requests for legal opinions), proceedings &/or agency operations. </li><li>Analyze, monitor, & draft legislation. </li><li>Assist in responding to inquiries from public & government officials (e.g., public records requests). </li><li>Organize & direct findings related to inspections of licensed facilities & individual licensees. </li><li>Represent board at meetings & speak for board on policy matters. </li><li>Manage the boards Administrative Rule Review (e.g., drafting & electronic filing of commission rules, scheduling public hearings, ensuring proper notice to public for participation in rule review process & act as liaison between commission & other agencies, including Office of Common-Sense Initiative, & parties involved in this process). </li></ul> <p>Admission to Ohio Bar pursuant to Section 4705.01 of Revised Code; 18 mos. exp. as licensed attorney AND 6 mos. exp. in supervisory principles/techniques.</p> <p>Job Skills: Attorney/Legal</p>
