<p>Job Title: Electrical Design Engineer</p> <p>Job Description</p> <p>The Electrical Design Engineer directs, coordinates, and oversees the design, planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of electrical engineering projects. This role focuses on developing detailed electrical designs and documentation for power distribution, industrial control panels, and industrial network architectures while ensuring compliance with engineering standards, company guidelines, and customer requirements. The position offers extensive interaction with internal and external customers, supporting installation, commissioning, and design modifications to meet project needs within a fast-growing, entrepreneurial environment.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Direct, coordinate, and exercise functional authority over the design, planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of assigned engineering projects. </li><li>Analyze engineering schematics, specifications, related data, and drawings to determine critical design factors and project requirements. </li><li>Produce accurate, thoroughly self-verified electrical device and panel layouts, including motor, control, and I/O schematics, as well as detailed bills of materials. </li><li>Review designs for compliance with engineering specifications, company standards, customer contract requirements, and applicable codes and related specifications. </li><li>Evaluate and approve design changes, specifications, and drawing releases to ensure quality, accuracy, and consistency across project documentation. </li><li>Design and develop detailed layouts for electrical circuits and systems for power distribution, industrial control panels, and industrial network architectures using examples, standards, and prior experience. </li><li>Develop and update control system documentation, including schematics, panel layouts, and network diagrams, using AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical. </li><li>Collaborate closely with internal teams to support project execution, installation, and commissioning activities, providing technical guidance and design clarification as needed. </li><li>Interface extensively with external customers to understand requirements, provide design support, and implement modifications needed to support evolving project needs. </li><li>Apply knowledge of UL508A, NEC, NFPA 70E, and local building codes to ensure safe and compliant electrical designs. </li><li>Contribute to continuous improvement of design practices, standards, and templates to support the company's rapid growth and project quality. </li></ul> <p>Essential Skills</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field. </li><li>Proficiency with AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical for creating and modifying electrical schematics and panel layouts. </li><li>Hands-on experience producing electrical schematics, including motor control, I/O, and control system documentation. </li><li>Ability to design and document industrial control panels and power distribution systems. </li><li>Working knowledge of control systems, including PLC programming concepts and HMI graphics. </li><li>Basic knowledge of electrical equipment and local building codes, including UL508A, NEC, and NFPA 70E. </li><li>Understanding of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures related to electrical design and industrial control. </li><li>Ability to analyze engineering schematics, specifications, and technical data to determine design factors and project requirements. </li><li>Strong attention to detail with the ability to thoroughly self-verify drawings, layouts, and bills of materials. </li><li>Effective communication skills to interface with internal teams and external customers for design support and project coordination. </li></ul> <p>Additional Skills & Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Experience designing industrial network architectures for control systems and related equipment. </li><li>Experience in control panel design and network design within industrial environments. </li><li>Familiarity with PLC programming and HMI graphics development as part of integrated control system design. </li><li>Ability to evaluate and approve design changes and drawing releases in a fast-paced project environment. </li><li>Comfort working in a growing organization with evolving processes and significant opportunity for professional growth. </li><li>Interest in contributing to a company with an employee ownership structure (ESOP) and long-term wealth-building opportunities. </li></ul> <p>Work Environment</p> <p>This role is based in an onsite office environment with standard weekday hours, typically Monday through Friday, either 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. or 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The company operates as a small but rapidly growing parcel integration business with ambitious goals and a strong track record of securing substantial project work. Team members work closely and collaboratively, with frequent interaction across engineering and project functions. The culture emphasizes growth, ownership, and long-term opportunity, supported by a planned transition to an employee stock ownership structure. Work is primarily computer-based, using tools such as AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical, with periodic collaboration and discussions to support installation, commissioning, and customer-focused design modifications.</p> <p>Job Type & Location</p> <p>This is a Permanent position based out of Louisville, KY.</p> <p>Pay and Benefits</p> <p>The pay range for this position is $90000.00 - $130000.00/yr.</p> <p>Eligible to enroll in health, dental, vision, voluntary term life insurance, critical illness as well as accident insurance which are effective date of hire.
