Candidates from outside or within State Service can apply.</p> <p>As a Psychiatrist 2 Research at Nathan Kline Research Institute, your duties will include, but not be limited to:</p> <ul> <li>The development of grants and contracts that further the mission of the NKI and OMH. </li><li>Experiment design. </li><li>Behavioral training. </li><li>Data acquisition. </li><li>Data analysis. </li><li>Manuscript preparation. </li><li>Conference presentation. </li><li>Mentoring of junior faculty and staff. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications Candidates from outside or within State Service can be considered for hire under the Hiring for Emergency Limited Placement - Statewide (HELPS) program as a psychiatrist 2 Research if they have:</p> <ul> <li>License and current registration to practice medicine in New York State; and </li><li>Certification in psychiatry approved by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN); and </li><li>2 years of post-residency experience designing and/or conducting research studies in an academic or research setting. </li></ul> <p>OR</p> <p>Candidates from within State Service can be considered for a competitive class appointment if they have one year of permanent competitive or 55-b/55-c service in a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of the Civil Service Law.</p> <p>Additional Comments Preferred: The ideal candidate will have an extensive knowledge of clinical symptoms and neuroscience concepts related to severe mood and anxiety disorders in general and to obsessive-compulsive disorder in particular.
