<p>POSITION TITLE: Adjunct Hiring Pool - Criminology & Criminal Justice Department</p> <p>COMPENSATION RANGE: 1,080.00 - 1,300.00 per credit hour</p> <p>EMPLOYMENT CLASSIFICATION: Faculty</p> <p>Department: Criminology & Criminal Justice</p> <p>TARGET HIRE DATE: 8/18/2025</p> <p>BENEFITS: UNC's Career Hub</p> <p>This is an open pool posting and applicants will be contacted only if a suitable position becomes available. Pool may be used to fill vacancies for the Fall 2025 - Summer 2026.</p> <p>This pool expires 05/31/2026. Applicants wishing to remain in this pool past 05/31/2026, must reapply at that time.</p> <p>Position Summary:</p> <p>Temporary, part-time adjunct faculty in the Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice. Both in person and online teaching opportunities currently available in the department.</p> <p>Minimum Qualifications:</p> <p>Master's degree or equivalent in Criminology, Criminal Justice, Sociology, Law, Psychology, Political Science, Public Policy, of Public Administration (or at least 18 graduate course hours in one of the listed disciplines). Equivalent experience, as defined in the department's tested experience policy (below), may also be considered. Commitment to quality instruction at the college level is essential. To be considered qualified through tested experience (instead of an MA), a faculty member must meet at least two of the following criteria: 1. Substantial (minimum 18 credits) graduate-level academic coursework relevant to the theories, approaches, and methods in one of the above-listed discipline areas or in the assigned course topic; 2. A record of exceptional research, professional activity, or achievement relevant to the theories, approaches, and methods in one of the above-listed discipline areas or in the assigned course topic; 3. Relevant certifications, licensure, or additional credentials relevant to the theories, approaches, and methods, in one of the above-listed discipline areas or in the assigned course topic; 4. An exceptional record of professional activity, expertise, or achievement relevant to the assigned course topic.</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications:</p> <p>Doctorate in a discipline appropriate to the one in which the candidate wishes to teach. Past record of successful college-level teaching experience in the discipline of employment. Experience using the Canvas platform and with courses that have received Quality Matters approval is advantageous.
