<p>Holliston Public Schools is looking for a School Nurse for our Extended School Year (ESY) program this summer. The DESE licensed RN provides primary and emergency health care; administers medication as prescribed by medical providers; and provides health care to students with specialized needs.</p> <p>Requirements: DESE Certification</p> <p>The pay rate is: $40.00/hour</p> <p>Hours: Monday-Thursday 8:00am - 2:00pm (4 days, 24 hours per week)</p> <p>The Extended School Year schedule for 2026 will run Monday through Thursdays starting July 6, 2026 through August 6, 2026; Most services follow a Monday through Thursday schedule. An additional week of services may be held the week before and the week after for a limited number of children. There will be a one-day orientation for all staff tentatively scheduled for Thursday, June 25, 2026.</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>School nurse educator's license from the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education </li><li>Bachelor's in Nursing from an accredited college or university. </li><li>A valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of Massachusetts (M.G.L. c.7l, s.53). </li><li>Current CPR certification/AED training from a recognized provider (such as the American Red Cross or American Heart Association). </li><li>A strong knowledge and demonstrated skill in working with students in a school setting (K - grade 12). </li></ul> <p>Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:</p> <ul> <li>Comprehensive assessment and evaluation of students' health status. </li><li>Serve as health advocate and provide primary and emergency health care to students, staff and visitors, with a focus in providing care to students with specialized health care needs. </li><li>Provide appropriate staff with student medical information and guidance related to student health issues as needed. </li><li>Provide consultation, relevant teaching, counseling and guidance to assist students and their caregivers in assuming responsibility for health care. </li><li>Administer medication in accordance with state and school policies. </li><li>Understanding of individual healthcare plans, 504 plans, and emergency healthcare plans. </li><li>Utilize SNAP software to document and maintain accurate health records for students. </li></ul> <p>If you are interested in joining the ESY staff this summer, please submit the following:</p> <ul> <li>Letter of interest/cover letter </li><li>Resume </li></ul> <p>Placentino Elementary School - Pre-K to Grade 2</p> <p>Miller Elementary School - Grades 3-5</p> <p>Adams Middle School- Grades 6-8</p> <p>Holliston High School- Grades 9-12</p> <p>Holliston Public Schools - Transition Services</p>
