<p>Under the direction of a qualified Registered Nurse, performs various patient care activities and related clerical functions that support the clinical operations of the Emergency Department. Provides technical support and participates in unit activities as a team member. Participates in unit, departmental, and organizational improvement activities as assigned. Responsible for review, completion and terminal filing of ED records.</p> <p>EDUCATION:</p> <p>Minimum:</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or GED </li></ul> <p>Preferred:</p> <ul> <li>Post secondary education in a related field. </li><li>Medical Terminology </li></ul> <p>LICENSE:</p> <p>PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATIONS:</p> <p>Minimum:</p> <ul> <li>Current BLS-provided during week one of hire. </li><li>CPI certification obtained within 30 days of hire. </li></ul> <p>WORK EXPERIENCE:</p> <p>Minimum:</p> <ul> <li>One year acute care experience in hospital setting. </li><li>Computer literacy required </li></ul> <p>Preferred:</p> <ul> <li>Phlebotomy, EKG, ED Experience, Medical Terminology course </li></ul> <p>SKILLS:</p> <p>Minimum:</p> <ul> <li>Ability to organize, plan and accomplish assignments under supervision of a Registered Professional Nurse. </li><li>Excellent interpersonal, communication (written and oral), and organizational skills. </li><li>Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion and ability to deal with internal and external customers in a professional and courteous manner. </li><li>Computer literacy required with word processing </li></ul> <p>Preferred:</p> <ul> <li>Experience with Microsoft Office products and electronic medical record, Meditech. </li><li>Excel and spreadsheets. </li></ul>
