<p>Position Title: Store Donation Attendant</p> <p>Department: Operations</p> <p>Reports to: General Store Manager</p> <p>Position Purpose and Objectives</p> <p>America's Thrift Stores is recruiting Donation Center Attendants for our collection programs. Our search is focused on people with great customer service skills, combined with a great work ethic and a passion for helping people. Successful candidates will drive increased donations by maintaining collection sites for operational excellence. We are recruiting outgoing self-starters, who are results-oriented, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. This position provides a unique opportunity for those looking to combine their passion for business with a chance to give back to their communities.</p> <p>Roles and Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Interacts with donors to accept and process donations at trailer sites in an outdoor setting </li><li>Helps to sustain and maintain donation trailer site and donation boxes for donation collections </li><li>Maintains clean and orderly donation sites based on company operational standards </li><li>Works safely and efficiently in loading and unloading trailers and donation boxes </li><li>Possesses the ability to regularly work in the heat, the cold and in wet weather conditions </li><li>Provides outstanding customer service to all donors and customers </li><li>Communicates an awareness of our mission and goals to our donors and customers </li><li>Maintains relationships with donors and the general public </li><li>Other duties as may be assigned by management </li></ul> <p>Skills and Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Must be at least 18 years of age </li><li>Strong customer service skills </li><li>Must be able to carry, lift and push/pull up to 50 pounds regularly </li><li>Capable of bending, stooping, crouching, pushing, pulling and climbing stairs and ramps frequently </li><li>Able to accurately keep records and communicate donations progress daily </li><li>Demonstrated ability to simultaneously handle multiple activities at one time </li></ul> <p>Competencies</p> <p>Never- 0%, Occasionally- 1-33%, Frequently- 34-66%, Continuously- 67-100%</p> <p>Physical Demands:</p> <ul> <li>Frequently - Carrying up to 50 lbs., pushing and pulling up to 25 lbs., lifting up to 50 lbs., climbing up to 14-foot height, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, handling and smelling. </li><li>Frequently - Walking on tile/concrete, bending, feeling, and reaching waist/overhead level. </li><li>Continuously - Standing on tile/concrete, talking, seeing, and hearing. </li></ul> <p>Other:</p> <ul> <li>Mostly regular and weekend hours, occasionally working evenings and holiday hours as needed. </li><li>Working environment includes inside of building with semi-controlled temperatures and outside conditions with varying weather and temperatures. </li></ul> <p>Other duties as assigned: Please note that this job description may not cover every duty or responsibility that might arise in the course of employment.
