<p>Position Description</p> <p>As a Senior Manager, Procurement, your role will be to serve as a Business unit Integrator and act as a central point of contact for our Power business on all supply chain related activities and projects. You will coordinate with various stakeholders, manage cost savings projects, and contribute to overall strategy development.</p> <p>#LI-LB1</p> <p>#LI-Hybrid</p> <p>You will do this by:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Analyzing current and potential suppliers and developing strategic alliances with suppliers to maintain competitive pricing, flexible lead times and high standards of quality for a specific region or business unit</p> </li><li> <p>Measuring the performance of the supply base and ensures reporting processes are in place</p> </li><li> <p>Developing procurement strategies and conducting negotiations</p> </li><li> <p>Leveraging total cost reductions and quality improvement recommendations</p> </li><li> <p>Evaluating new material, supply and service developments</p> </li><li> <p>Reviewing and interpreting supplier contracts</p> </li><li> <p>Driving continuous improvement activities throughout the function</p> </li><li> <p>Performing full range of managerial responsibilities which may include but not be limited to: interviewing, hiring, coaching and developing employees; planning, assigning and directing work; EEO/AA; performance management; department budget</p> </li><li> <p>Performing other duties as assigned</p> </li></ul> <p>You are the type of person who is/has:</p> <ul> <li> <p>Comprehensive understanding of integrated supply chain management including principles, methods and practices related to procurement and/or purchasing</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to summarize complex projects & create summary presentations for executives that convey the critical factors in the project.</p> </li><li> <p>Strong Attention to detail, effective communication, and the ability to summarize complex projects</p> </li><li> <p>Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously</p> </li><li> <p>Highly developed written and verbal communication skills for report writing, presentations and interactions with diverse groups of people inside and outside of the corporation</p> </li><li> <p>Excellent analytical skills and the ability to exercise judgment and make critical decisions and think strategically</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to lead diverse teams through complex projects</p> </li><li> <p>Thorough understanding of how to select and build appropriate supply strategies based on operational needs</p> </li><li> <p>Fluent in English and primary language used in area of responsibility and/or location</p> </li><li></li></ul> <p>Education</p> <p>Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field, or equivalent education and experience</p> <p>Experience Requirements</p> <ul> <li> <p>Minimum of seven years of experience in supply chain or related field, preferably in a manufacturing environment.</p> </li><li> <p>Prior supervisory/management/leadership experience in a business or purchasing/procurement environment</p> </li></ul> <p>Physical & Environmental Requirements</p> <p>Domestic and/or international travel as required up to 15%</p> <p>Briggs & Stratton, headquartered in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, provides innovative products and diverse power solutions to help people get work done.
