<p>Job Details</p> <p>Job Location: The Bridge at ACES - Hamden, CT</p> <p>Position Type: Full Time</p> <p>Salary Range: $41710.00 - $61627.00 Salary/year</p> <p>Description</p> <p>Full-time Behavior Technician working with students with various skills and needs.</p> <p>Job Brief:</p> <p>Behavior technicians are responsible for maintaining safety within the school environment by responding to behavior events and working collaboratively with school personnel. Under the direction of Administrators and Behavior Analysts, technicians work to maintain trusting and positive relationships with students, offering support and positive programming. They maintain necessary documentation of behavior events and required data consistent with state reporting. The technician attends team meetings as designed for the assigned program. At times, the technician drives students for afterschool activities and trips and may be called upon to provide morning and afternoon transportation for their assigned program. The Behavior technician acts as a resource within the building to assist staff in understanding and improving behaviors.</p> <p>Duties and Responsibilities:</p> <p>Interacts positively and professionally with students and colleagues</p> <p>Completes the setup and monitoring of data management systems</p> <p>Maintains a clean and orderly environment</p> <p>Participates in student-centered meetings</p> <p>Assists in the completion of student updates</p> <p>Performs duties as assigned by supervisors</p> <p>Supports the program's behavior management system</p> <p>Assists with arrival and departure routines</p> <p>Serves on crisis teams as assigned</p> <p>Participates in assigned trainings and staff development opportunities</p> <p>Provides safety assistance in compliance with ACES safety management training, local, state and federal regulations</p> <p>Keep Connecticut "V" endorsement current by completing requirements in a timely manner</p> <p>Positively represents ACES through personal conduct, attendance and completion of assigned duties.</p> <p>Knowledge of:</p> <p>ACES policies and procedures, inclusive of assigned program-specific policies and procedures</p> <p>Safety management procedures and related local, state and federal laws and regulations</p> <p>When relevant for RBT certification, BCBA certification, or supervision thereof, understand and comply with all regulations and guidelines of BACB.</p> <p>Application of individualized behavior management programs in operation</p> <p>Reliability check processes and procedures for data fidelity</p> <p>Procedural fidelity checks processes for ongoing programs</p> <p>Individual student's profiles, triggers, motivators, and their responses</p> <p>Appropriate prompts and cues to utilize with individuals during crisis situations</p> <p>Skills in:</p> <p>Oral and written communication to explain, model, and relate information to the team on an ongoing basis</p> <p>Professional collegiality with peers, leadership, and stakeholders</p> <p>Organization of required data, plans, and quarterly reports</p> <p>Data collection and assessment</p> <p>Using all relevant software systems to capture data and generate reports for supervisors, District, State and Federal reporting</p> <p>Relating to students to foster positive relationships</p> <p>Communication with families as directed</p> <p>Ability to:</p> <p>Demonstrate a strong work ethic inclusive of excellent attendance</p> <p>Record data in a timely and accurate manner</p> <p>Review data regularly and notify supervisors of relevant information</p> <p>Assess reinforcer effectiveness</p> <p>Communicate student issues to relevant team members</p> <p>Assist in the analysis of behavioral and instructional data</p> <p>Demonstrate and understanding for all concepts presented through the ACES Behavior Services and Autism Programs Training Series.</p> <p>Fluently discuss and apply strategies based in ABA</p> <p>Seek out relevant professional development opportunities</p> <p>Assist with training and feedback regarding behavioral skills with staff</p> <p>Provide training and feedback regarding instructional skills when paired with new staff</p> <p>Physical Demands</p> <p>An employee must meet the physical demands described here to perform the essential functions of this job successfully. Flexibility, balance, and core strength to complete safety management holds and escorts as trained. Intact hearing to respond to assistance calls.
