<p>Job Description</p> <p>Objective of the Job</p> <p>This position will be responsible for working with the other members of the accounting department in creating accurate and timely financial information for the organization. This position will keep the day-to-day activities running smoothly. The duties can range from treasury functions to Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, journal entries, and closing the books.</p> <p>Duties and Responsibilities 1) Oversight of Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality programs and "where applicable"</p> <p>ResponsibleSteel requirements; follow BRS directives and comply with regulatory requirements</p> <p>within scope of responsibility.</p> <p>2) Has a broad knowledge of accounting expertise and can apply that expertise in various functions</p> <p>3) Strong business savvy and acumen</p> <p>4) Ensures accounting entries are booked timely and accurately</p> <p>5) Technically savvy and thorough understanding of GAAP</p> <p>6) Participates in month-end closings</p> <p>7) Prepares information suitable for public filings</p> <p>8) Understands Sarbanes-Oxley compliance</p> <p>9) Coordinates and prepares pertinent information for the management team and auditors</p> <p>10) Identifies and implements process improvements to enhance overall efficiency</p> <p>11) Manages the day-to-day functions and staff in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and General Accounting.</p> <p>12) Reviews and approves journal entries and account reconciliations</p> <p>13) Working with operations to help ensure the accuracy of information related to functions above</p> <p>14) Assists in special projects as needed</p> <p>Qualifications 1) Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.</p> <p>2) A thorough understanding of US GAAP</p> <p>3) Prior experience with manufacturing companies</p> <p>4) Experience managing direct reports</p> <p>5) 6+ years of relevant and progressive experience in general accounting and preparation of financial statements in a manufacturing environment</p> <p>6) High attention to detail</p> <p>7) Excellent MS office and similar software skills</p> <p>8) Strong communication, writing, interpersonal, organizational skills and ability to interact with all levels of management</p> <p>9) Embrace change and flexibility</p> <p>10) Experience with public companies a plus</p> <p>11) Experience with Great Plains Software a plus</p> <p>12) Steel mill experience a plus</p> <p>13) The ability to excel in a fast-paced, dynamic environment</p> <p>Working Conditions and Physical Requirements</p> <p>Personal skills rating must be high in the areas of teamwork, adaptability, broad business skills, results, accountability, and inclusion as you work with many different people with diverse backgrounds.</p> <p>Must be available to work overtime and weekends on occasion as required. Supervisory ResponsibilityThis position does supervise the AR, AP and general accounting team</p>
