<p>Current Saint Francis Employees - Please click HERE to login and apply.</p> <p>This position is ECB status - requires a minimum number of worked hours per month as needed by the department; limited benefit offerings.</p> <p>Job Summary: The Student, Nuclear Medicine Technologist uses multidisciplinary skills to assist in the performance of a variety of procedures using sealed and unsealed radionuclides, and radiation detecting equipment in the diagnosis and treatment of disease.</p> <p>Minimum Education: High School diploma or GED. Must be enrolled in an AMA approved program in Nuclear Medicine Technology.</p> <p>Licensure, Registration and/or Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS).</p> <p>Work Experience: None.</p> <p>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders at all levels. Proficiency using computer software applications, including Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to maintain a compassionate and caring attitude towards patients, families, physicians, and employees. Ability to organize and prioritize work in an effective and efficient manner.</p> <p>Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Assists in performing nuclear medicine procedures under the supervision of a licensed technologist or physician, including preparing and administering radiopharmaceuticals to patients. Provides compassionate care to patients undergoing nuclear medicine procedures, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the process. Maintains accurate records of procedures performed, patient information, and radiation doses administered, following regulatory requirements and Saint Francis Health System (SFHS) policies. Participates in quality control procedures for nuclear medicine equipment and radiopharmaceuticals to ensure consistent performance and compliance with standards. Accurately documents and maintains records of shipping, receiving, storage, and disposal of all radioisotopes per NRC, DEQ, and SFHS policies. Schedules exams, verifies physician orders, and sends documentation to medical records department. Maintains orderliness and cleanliness of rooms and equipment in accordance with department standards.</p> <p>Decision Making: The carrying out of non-routine procedures under constantly changing conditions, in conformance with general instructions from a supervisor.</p> <p>Working Relationships: Works with internal and/or external customers via telephone or face to face interaction. Works with other healthcare professionals and staff.
