<p>Overall Summary:</p> <p>Provide professional Behavioral Health and Social Services for patients in accordance with Health Center policies, procedures, and protocols and sound behavioral health treatment and social services. Individual will review, monitor and update the clinic's behavioral health policies and procedures and provide clinical guidance and oversight related to the individual's scope of practice and expertise. Act as a resource and provide consultation on the assessment, management, and treatment of complicated cases. In coordination with the Chief Medical Officer, performs administrative responsibilities, which include recruitment, orientation, supervision, and evaluation of Behavioral Health personnel. Provides ongoing development and review of protocols to ensure optimized care for patients complies with licensing agencies.</p> <p>Essential Responsibilities:</p> <p>Under the general direction of the Chief Medical Officer/ Medical Director, the Behavioral Health and Social Services Director performs a variety of complex, professional, analytical, and confidential behavioral health services. Duties include:</p> <ul> <li>Formulating, implementing, and overseeing procedures for operation of behavioral health social services department services. </li><li>Developing and providing/coordinating clinical trainings and workshops for BHSS staff </li><li>Developing criteria for work behavior and performance. Mentors and trains managers; evaluates work of subordinates; motivates, coaches, counsels, and disciplines direct reports. </li><li>Fostering a trusting and professional environment </li><li>Building working relationships and referral networks with outside agencies </li><li>Representing the BACH and the BHSS department to outside stakeholders regarding BACH services; prepares and presents information regarding BACH service data. </li><li>Participate in the development of operational procedures that promote BH integration with medical, dental, vision and other departments, quality patient-centered care, productivity and revenue enhancement, risk management, cost savings, employee engagement and satisfaction. </li><li>Participate in peer reviews planning committee </li><li>Providing comprehensive public health-oriented behavioral health services to patients to include diagnostic, consultation/referral, assessment/treatment planning. </li><li>Preparing all reporting and evaluation requirements. </li><li>Providing in-service training to staff. Participating in specialty clinics collaboratively with other members in planning to the behavioral health needs and complaints of patients. </li><li>Attending and participating in and or leading staff meetings. </li><li>Assisting and working with other department heads in maintaining communication and working collaboratively to co-ordinate care delivery. Following an integrated approach in the overall operation of the clinic. </li><li>Staying abreast of current trends and best practices. Anticipating and identifying future needs and developing innovative approaches to address those needs. </li></ul> <p>Department Budget</p> <ul> <li>Directing, overseeing, and coordinating data collection and management information systems to provide both financial and programmatic feedback for the improvement of both efficiency and effectiveness in achieving the mission of the BHSS department. </li><li>Expending administrative office funds to make purchases of assessment and therapeutic equipment required to perform duties. </li></ul> <p>Marketing</p> <ul> <li>Attending community and school events to promote Bay Area Community Health's Behavioral Health Services. </li></ul> <p>Policy and procedure development</p> <ul> <li>Drafts quality protocols to improve the BH program that will ensure that patients receive quality care of BH health care services, using peer review, medical record audits, grievances, and other appropriate mechanisms. </li></ul> <p>Secondary Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Other duties as assigned. </li><li>Assume general administration duties including fax, filing, copying, etc. </li><li>Attend webinars, workshops, training and/or meetings as requested by the CEO. </li><li>Perform special project research and data collection activities as requested by the CEO; analyze and interpret data, and prepare reports. </li><li>Coordinate special staff events and prepares and distributes promotional flyers for such events. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Masters of Social Work (MSW), Clinical Psychology (PsyD) or PHD in related field. </li><li>Five years of administrative management experience; Three years of counseling experience </li><li>At least two years of experience working with children and/or adolescents in a therapeutic atmosphere. </li><li>Knowledge of: Professional and ethical standards and practices. Knowledge of managed care, utilization management, case management, and disease management. </li><li>Current California License as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Psychologist (PsyD) </li><li>Continuous CPR-Basic Life Support (BLS) </li><li>Excellent communication, interpersonal and leadership skills. </li><li>Willing and able to take on increasing responsibility with time </li><li>Must relate well to all cultural and ethnic groups in the community </li><li>Demonstrated ability to treat all individuals with respect, empathy, and compassion </li></ul> <p>Preferred Education, Experience, Training</p> <ul> <li>Prior experience in public health or community health </li><li>Bilingual </li></ul> <p>Work Conditions:</p> <p>Travel locally to visit other sites, may require a day or overnight trip to attend events; workload may be demanding at times; require professionalism and confidentiality.</p> <p>Physical Demands:</p> <p>This position requires:</p> <ul> <li>Sitting, walking, and standing associated with a normal medical, clinical and administrative office environment, with some bending, reaching, stretching, and lifting up to 25 pounds. </li><li>Manual dexterity for tasks involving standard office equipment and computer keyboard, including repetitive movements, such as typing. </li><li>Traveling to work sites, including some exposure to outside elements. </li><li>Exposure to potentially dangerous materials and situations, requiring adherence to extensive safety precautions and possibly the use of protective equipment. </li></ul> <p>Supervises:</p> <p>BH Providers</p> <p>BH Managers</p>
