<p>Advanced Math and Science Academy, a college preparatory charter school, is seeking to hire committed, skilled, and inspiring educators. AMSA is committed to preparing all students to succeed in college and beyond. Located in Marlborough, MA, AMSA includes 6th through 12th grade classes. The Advanced Math & Science Academy Charter School is currently accepting applications for a part-time 504 Coordinator to start on August 18, 2025. This is a .5FTE position.</p> <p>Teachers and Staff Members at Advanced Math and Science Academy will:</p> <ul> <li>Focus intensely on increasing academic achievement, content knowledge, and character growth for all students. </li><li>Create inspiring, challenging, and effective teaching and learning experiences for all our students. </li><li>Be committed to serving all students, including English Language Learners and Students with Disabilities, in the context of the regular education classroom using a variety of inclusion models. </li><li>Contribute to a strong and supportive professional learning community. </li></ul> <p>Job Summary:</p> <p>The 504 Coordinator is responsible for oversight and implementation of Section 504 plans for eligible students. This includes ensuring that all procedures and timelines are followed in compliance with federal and state regulations and that accommodations are implemented effectively to provide equal access to education. The 504 Coordinator collaborates closely with administrators, teachers, parents, and related service providers to develop and maintain appropriate accommodations and supports. This is a part-time, 20 hour per week position.</p> <p>Qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred. </li><li>Background in Special Education and/or Section 504 is required. </li><li>Experience developing and implementing 504 plans preferred. </li><li>Strong knowledge of Section 504, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and related regulations. </li><li>Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. </li><li>Ability to work effectively with school staff, families, and external stakeholders. </li></ul> <p>Job Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Coordinate all aspects of the Section 504 process, including evaluation, eligibility, plan development, implementation, and annual reviews. </li><li>Develop and maintain accurate and confidential Section 504 files and documentation for all eligible students. </li><li>Provide training and support to school staff on Section 504 procedures and responsibilities. </li><li>Monitor the delivery of accommodations and services to students with 504 plans to assure compliance and fairness. </li><li>Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to keep them informed of their children's progress and accommodations. </li><li>Submit accommodation requests for students requiring them to College Board Services for Students with Disabilities (SSD) proctoring as needed. </li><li>May perform other duties as assigned by the principal or executive director. </li></ul> <p>Note:</p> <p>Please be aware that some of the elements contained in this job description are subject to bargaining obligations established by Federal and State law for the AMSA charter school and are subject to change.</p> <p>Advanced Math and Science Academy is a committed equal-opportunity employer, dedicated to hiring a talented and diverse workforce.
