<p>As the Global Chief Accounting Officer (CAO), you'll lead the transformation and modernization of Grant Thornton's accounting function for your global team - all with the resources, environment, and support to help you excel. You'll collaborate with the CFO, CEO, FP&A, IT, Legal, Tax, and the Office of Value Creation to ensure consistency and rigor in the company's accounting policies and processes, while also leading the development of a scalable infrastructure to support growth, international expansion, and acquisitions. From day one, you'll be empowered by our global network and best-in-class systems to drive financial integrity and help you achieve more, confidently.</p> <p>Your day-to-day may include:</p> <ul> <li>Leading a function-led, geographically-agnostic global accounting organization, including the U.S. and all international subsidiaries. </li><li>Setting the vision for the global accounting function, including policy governance, close processes, audit readiness, and financial integrity. </li><li>Leading and managing an offshore Shared Services captive company for various accounting and finance functions (e.g., billing, collections, etc.). </li><li>Developing and enforcing common global processes and controls for monthly and quarterly close, consolidation, and financial reporting. </li><li>Serving as the principal liaison with internal and external auditors, ensuring timely and accurate audit processes and remediating any deficiencies. </li><li>Ensuring the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes are performed on a standardized calendar across all entities, including consolidated reporting. </li><li>Overseeing technical accounting, intercompany eliminations, foreign currency treatment, revenue recognition, leases, and complex accounting transactions. </li><li>Establishing and maintaining strong internal controls and SOX compliance (or equivalent as required in each jurisdiction). </li><li>Driving simplification, standardization, and automation of accounting processes using best-in-class systems and practices. </li><li>Building and leading a global accounting team with direct functional reporting from country-level controllers and accounting teams. </li><li>Overseeing all operational finance sub-functions, including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR) and Collections, Billing and Invoicing, General Ledger (GL) and Fixed Assets, Payroll, Revenue Accounting and Recognition, Intercompany and Treasury Accounting, Audit, Policy, and Controls Compliance. </li><li>Leading the accounting integration of newly acquired businesses and ensuring alignment with company policies and systems. </li><li>Partnering with FP&A and IT to develop scalable systems and data structures to support organizational growth and complexity. </li><li>Establishing shared service centers for transactional finance in lower-cost global regions (e.g., India, Philippines) with appropriate controls and oversight. </li><li>Owning the preparation of consolidated financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP and local reporting standards where required. </li><li>Working closely with the Audit Committee and external auditors to prepare for and present during audits, reviews, and internal control assessments. </li><li>Ensuring compliance with statutory filings, tax audits, and local reporting across all jurisdictions. </li><li>Other duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>You have the following technical skills and qualifications:</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Accounting required. MBA or Master's in Accounting degree preferred. </li><li>Minimum of 15-20 years of progressive accounting and finance leadership, including at least 5+ years in a global CAO, Corporate Controller, or equivalent executive-level role. </li><li>Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required. </li><li>Deep technical knowledge of U.S. GAAP, consolidations, multi-currency accounting, and internal controls. </li><li>Proven history of setting up or managing an offshore Shared Services captive company for parts of various accounting and finance functions (e.g., billing, collections, etc.). </li><li>Proven success in building and leading a global accounting organization across multiple regions and legal entities. </li><li>Experience in establishing shared service models and standardizing global close calendars and procedures. </li><li>Strong leadership, communication, and team development skills across cultures and time zones. </li><li>Demonstrated ability to drive transformation, streamline processes, and work effectively in matrixed environments. </li><li>High integrity, strong business acumen, and a hands-on, execution-oriented mindset. </li><li>Strong analytical skills and ability to perform quantitative analysis and develop business cases. </li><li>Have excellent verbal and written communication skills. </li><li>Ability to travel as needed. </li></ul> <p>#LI-MM1</p>
