<p>Job Title GRADUATE ASSISTANT - Student Leadership & Involvement Department Student Involvement Essential Functions</p> <p>This position is for 2025-2026. The primary function of this position will be to support the UNO Jumpstart initiative within the office of Student Leadership, Involvement & Inclusion (SLII). Jumpstart is an initiative providing opportunities for high school seniors to connect with UNO and prepare for the college experience. In addition to general program support, the Graduate Assistant's duties related to the Jumpstart program include but are not limited to:</p> <ul> <li>Assisting with recruitment and selection of program participants </li><li>Assisting in developing outreach and marketing plans </li><li>Assisting in planning events and activities </li><li>Prepare and deliver engaging presentations to diverse audiences, effectively conveying relevant information in a clear, concise and compelling manner </li><li>Logistical planning, making room reservations, ordering supplies, etc. </li><li>Supporting the tracking of program roster of participants </li><li>Assisting in organizing and conducting program assessments </li><li>Interacting with and mentoring student participants </li><li>Supporting SLII team with additional event planning and duties as assigned </li><li>Other duties as assigned </li></ul> <p>Work Schedule 20 hours per week. Work week scheduled around classes and programming. Programming includes occasional evenings, weekends, and university breaks. Additional Duties Required Qualifications</p> <p>Must be enrolled in a UNO graduate degree program. Candidates who have previous experience working with mentoring and youth programs.</p> <p>Preferred Qualifications</p> <p>Preference to candidates enrolled in graduate degree programs in education, social work, counseling, higher education leadership, or related fields.</p> <p>Physical Demands</p> <p>The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
