<p>DATTCO is searching for a School Bus Manager to lead a school bus team in Brooklyn, Connecticut.</p> <p>Established in 1924, DATTCO is a third-generation, family-owned business. DATTCO began providing school bus transportation in 1949 and currently services 30 school districts and Regional Education Service Centers throughout Connecticut and Rhode Island, transporting 140,000 students annually.</p> <p>The School Bus Manager is a key management position in the company and is responsible for leading a team of employees to provide safe, superior customer service while successfully managing a profitable business.</p> <p>What We Offer:</p> <ul> <li>Family-oriented culture & team environment </li><li>Room for advancement we promote from within </li><li>Competitive compensation </li><li>Medical & dental insurance </li><li>Life insurance </li><li>401k plan with company match </li><li>Flexible spending account </li><li>Short-term & long-term disability </li><li>Paid time off </li></ul> <p>Primary Responsibilities:</p> <ul> <li>Plan, direct and coordinator the activities of a school bus terminal. </li><li>Process and maintain payroll records. </li><li>Update routes using the Trapeze software or other software as required. </li><li>Hire new employees including interviewing and selection for training program. </li><li>Review driver bids for routes and charters to determine assignments for driving personnel. </li><li>Responsible for monthly billing </li><li>Monitor and control labor and other expenses. </li><li>Coordinate the checking of dispatch sheets with drivers daily time. </li><li>Prepare budget for the terminal. </li><li>Coordination of drivers, buses, safety and maintenance. </li><li>Process school department, parent and student complaints and initiate corrective actions. </li><li>Handle any conflicts which may arise and provide the necessary progressive disciplinary action. </li><li>Effectively answer routine phone calls, mail and fax inquires. </li><li>Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with DATTCOs policies and procedures, and all applicable laws. </li><li>Ensure all drivers follow all state and federal regulations. </li><li>Quote and book charters. </li><li>Responsible for all monies due into the terminal including petty cash. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>3 plus years supervisory experience, transportation experience preferred. </li><li>Must be able to create a teamwork environment. </li><li>Excellent problem-solving techniques in a fast-paced environment. </li><li>Ability to communicate effectively with employees, management and school department personnel. </li><li>Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. </li><li>Excellent computer skills with Microsoft Windows. </li><li>Some college courses or relevant industry experience. </li></ul> <p>Qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, protected veteran status and any other protected classes.</p>
