<p>Job Title</p> <p>Transit Driver(Non-CDL), Part-time</p> <p>Reports To</p> <p>Transit Director</p> <p>Hourly</p> <p>$16.00 hourly rate.</p> <p>Job Description:</p> <p>The part-time Non-CDL Transit Driver position will drive City of Weirton busses and provide excellent customer service to all passengers. Duties include the proper completion of the pre-trip inspection sheet, passenger log, and defensive driving forms; proper operation of the mobility device, lift, and accessibility equipment/features; securing the mobility devices; and proper completion of any City accident reporting procedures. Positions average 24 hours per week . Other duties may be assigned as needed.</p> <p>Duties may include, but are not limited to the following:</p> <ul> <li>Safely driving a bus or van. </li><li>Efficient and courteous service to all passengers. </li><li>Safe operation of all assigned vehicles. </li><li>Obey all traffic laws and regulations. </li><li>Cleaning the interior and exterior of assigned vehicle. </li><li>Accepting passes, trip tickets and or cash. </li><li>Perform and document pre-trip procedures. </li><li>Completion of passenger counts, time sheets and accident reports, if needed. </li><li>Loading and unloading ADA passengers via available equipment. </li><li>Operate ADA lift manually, if necessary. </li><li>Announce stops on route. </li><li>Manually operate fare box. </li><li>Report to work on time. </li><li>Adhere to department dress code. </li><li>Perform related work and other duties as assigned by the Transit Director, Administrative Assistant, and Dispatcher. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Valid Class E Driver's License (CDL not necessary). </li></ul> <p>Working Conditions</p> <ul> <li>While performing the duties of the job, transit driver may be exposed to various weather conditions. </li></ul> <p>Physical Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Applicant must be in good physical condition, able to talk, hear and see. </li><li>Work will occasionally require the ability to lift up to 25 lbs. </li><li>Work will require the ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time. </li><li>Work will require the ability to withstand both hot and cold weather conditions. </li><li>Work will require occasional kneeling and bending to secure mobility devices. </li><li>Work requires occasional pushing and pulling of mobility devices. </li></ul> <p>Other Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Must pass physical examination, including drug and alcohol screening. </li><li>Must pass a criminal background check, including driver license record check. </li></ul> <p>Apply Online</p> <p>Job Details</p> <p>Category Weirton Ride Status Open Posted March 4, 2025 Closing Open Until Filled</p> <p>Tools</p> <ul> <li>Download Application </li><li>Email Resume </li><li>Job Profiles </li></ul>
