<p>Tesla is looking for a senior leader for Manager, Service Logistics to lead a dynamic team responsible for managing all aspects of logistics in the Americas. This leader sets the strategy and vision for a team of managers working in different regions, indirectly overseeing performance of 50 employees. This role plays a critical part in driving performance improvement for Tesla's supply chain organization, increasing customer satisfaction and actioning high-impact cost savings initiatives. A primary aspect of the role will involve cross-functional collaboration with leaders of different groups and executive presentation to share progress on goals set for each period, as well as strategic vision for systems roadmap, prioritizing efforts with IT teams.</p> <p>As the team owns coordinating with suppliers, carriers, customers and internal stakeholders to ensure the timely and compliant movement of specialized materials, the ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in logistics, transportation, route optimization, warehousing functions, regulatory environment and dangerous goods compliance. If you thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and enjoy solving complex logistics challenges while optimizing cost, this role is for you.</p> <ul> <li>Set the strategy and vision for a large team of logistics professionals (salaried and hourly employees), inspiring them to exceed goals and unlock new opportunities to develop them professionally </li><li>Represent logistics in leadership and executive discussions around the supply chain of service parts for middle mile and last mile deliveries to Tesla's network of service centers and collision centers as well as external customers </li><li>Align efforts with the organization's goals to increase customer service while reducing cost through efficient management of internal resources and external partners </li><li>Collaborate cross-functionally with leaders in Material Planning, Channel Planning, Strategy, Network Optimization, Warehousing, Parts Operations, Systems and Finance to drive changes that optimize efficiency of end-to-end supply chain processes </li><li>Identify key opportunities for systems development, creating a clear and strong roadmap for transportation systems with IT and prioritizing efforts effectively </li><li>Develop and implement robust processes and systems that streamline the transportation of specialized goods, including route optimization for multiple destinations at the lowest cost, including reverse logistics </li><li>Ensure full compliance with global regulations, including hazardous materials handling, export/import requirements, and industry-specific logistics standards </li><li>Collaborate closely with 3rd party logistics providers, internal teams, and Tesla warehouses to maintain a smooth flow of materials while ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and optimal cost </li><li>10 to 12 years of experience in logistics management, with a strong background in distribution, route optimization, fleet management and reverse logistics </li><li>6 to 8 years in a leadership role, and at least 3 years managing a team of managers and driving strategy for the organization </li><li>Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering or equivalent experience </li><li>Track record of success in managing end-to-end projects with high impact on efficiency metrics and cost reduction. Ability to influence others and understand top priorities of the organization and pivot accordingly </li><li>Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage both day-to-day operations and long-term strategy, while ensuring regulatory compliance </li><li>Deep knowledge of dangerous goods and DOT regulations as well as international trade best practices </li><li>Demonstrated experience developing and implementing compliance processes for hazardous materials and international shipments </li><li>Willingness to travel up to 20% </li></ul>
