<p>The Health Technician Audiology (HTA) works under the supervision of the Chief & Assistant Chief of Audiology & Speech Pathology. They are responsible for planning and carrying out assignments, resolving most of the conflicts that arise, coordinating the work with others as necessary and interpreting policy on own initiative in terms of established objectives. The duties and responsibilities are carried out in all clinical and other patient care areas involved with the Audiology service.</p> <ul> <li>This is an OPEN CONTINUOUS ANNOUNCEMENT and will remain open until January 19, 2026. The initial cutoff date for referral of eligible applications will be October 31, 2025. Eligible applications received after that date will be referred at regular intervals or as additional vacancies occur on an as needed basis until positions are filled. * </li></ul> <p>Total Rewards of a Allied Health Professional</p> <ul> <li>Instruct and counsel on hearing loss or hearing aids either on an individual basis or in a group setting </li><li>Conduct hearing pass/fail screenings without interpretation </li><li>Take earmold impressions </li><li>Troubleshoot and repair hearing aid </li><li>Provide basic hearing aid information for patients and caregivers </li><li>Perform listening checks on hearing aids </li><li>Pair hearing aids and accessories via Bluetooth technology </li><li>Program previously stored settings into hearing aids </li><li>Activate remote controls </li><li>Manage office supplies </li><li>Track loaner stock hearing aid inventory </li><li>Verify orders upon arrival to ensure components are present and working correctly </li><li>Place RTC orders for appointments </li><li>Package and mailing hearing aids and accessories </li><li>Process ROES transactions (e.g., certifying and issuing hearing aids, entering orders and repairs) </li><li>Respond to routine inquiries from patients, including determining nature of hearing aid inquiry and responding to administrative questions </li><li>Assist patients, visitors, and other requesting information </li><li>Management of infection control, patient safety, and clinical supplies for the audiology clinic </li><li>Maintenance of lean, disinfected instrumentation, equipment, and work surfaces in the Audiology clinic </li></ul> <p>Work Schedule: 8AM-4:30PM Monday-Friday</p> <p>Recruitment Incentive (Sign-on Bonus): Not Authorized</p> <p>Permanent Change of Station (Relocation Assistance): Not Authorized</p> <p>Pay: Competitive salary and regular salary increases</p> <p>Paid Time Off: 37-50 days of annual paid time offer per year (13-26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year)</p> <p>Selected applicants may qualify for credit toward annual leave accrual, based on prior work experience or military service experience.</p> <p>Parental Leave: After 12 months of employment, up to 12 weeks of paid parental leave in connection with the birth, adoption, or foster care placement of a child.</p> <p>Child Care Subsidy: After 60 days of employment, full time employees with a total family income below $144,000 may be eligible for a childcare subsidy up to 25% of total eligible childcare costs for eligible children up to the monthly maximum of $416.66.</p> <p>Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA</p> <p>Insurance: Federal health/vision/dental/term life/long-term care (many federal insurance programs can be carried into retirement)</p> <p>Telework: Not Available</p> <p>Virtual: This is not a virtual position</p> <p>Functional Statement #: 54939-0, 54940-0, 54941-0</p> <p>Permanent Change of Station (PCS): Not Authorized</p>
