<p>Job Title Manager, Accessibility Services Location Main Campus - Dayton, OH Job Number 05298 Department Disability/Counseling Services Job Category Professional Job Type Full-Time Status Regular Job Open Date 08/22/2025 Resume Review Date 9/5/2025 Closing Date 09/05/2025 Open Until Filled No Position Summary</p> <p>The Manager of Accessibility Services manages and provides direct oversight for the Accessibility Services that provide a comprehensive program of academic accommodations and services to students with disabilities as well as personal confidential counseling to address and work on academic and personal concerns of all Sinclair students. This includes exercising administrative responsibility for employees and fiscal matters including hiring, supervision, performance management and review, staff development, salary setting, planning and budget management and team leadership for educational support services.</p> <p>This position also provides input as a member of the Student Affairs Group and assists in other student services' functions, in order to achieve greater efficiency in developing and implementing student retention and goal attainment initiatives through the following activities:</p> <ul> <li>Under the leadership of the Director of Student Affairs, developing annual goals and implementation activities in collaboration with the other Student Affairs Managers and Coordinators. </li><li>Developing and implementing cross-training and change management support for staff and student workers on Student Affairs initiatives related to student accessibility and counseling services. </li><li>Communicating plans and services available across the division and the college. </li><li>Aligning staff needs, skills and abilities with the best-matched function and developing learning outcomes. </li><li>Streamlining, systematizing and monitoring departmental processes and procedures. </li><li>Directing staffing, budgeting and resources to implement department, team and individual goals. </li></ul> <p>Principal Accountabilities</p> <ul> <li> <p>Strong customer service and/or student advocacy as demonstrated through a positive attitude of approachability, adaptability, strong problem-solving and desire to identify and support student success</p> </li><li> <p>Engage in behaviors that create an inclusive environment in which all people are valued and supported</p> </li><li> <p>Provide the vision and team leadership for the department including its supported education program</p> </li><li> <p>Coordinate overall administrative operations, including, but not limited to managing personnel and budgets, completing performance evaluations and review, and staff development</p> </li><li> <p>Provide leadership and participation on CARE team</p> </li><li> <p>Manage a caseload of students</p> </li><li> <p>Manage the planning, implementation and evaluation of programmatic services</p> </li><li> <p>Problem-solve complex issues that have institutional or student impact on educational access to College services and programs</p> </li><li> <p>Implement best practices in disability and counseling services field with an understanding of legal and policy-related concerns</p> </li><li> <p>Participate in strategic college-wide initiatives to promote inclusion, accessibility, pursue innovation, wellness, crisis intervention, and improve services and access to students</p> </li><li> <p>Promote programs to internal and external stakeholders</p> </li></ul> <p>Requirements</p> <ul> <li>Minimum of a master's degree in rehabilitation, special education, counseling, higher education or related field required </li><li>Minimum of 5 years of related professional progressive experience in postsecondary disability and/or counseling services that contribute significantly to student assistance and retention required </li><li>Demonstrated knowledge and experience with specialized postsecondary support services for students (i.e., services for students with a wide array of disabilities including physical, learning, psychiatric, Deaf, blind, etc.) required </li><li>Specialized knowledge of the implications of Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990 and other appropriate laws pertaining to higher education and disabilities required </li><li>Licensure as counselor, rehabilitation counselor, or social worker required </li><li>Promote independence, inclusion and pursue innovation in services for students with disabilities and endeavor to strengthen the Student Affairs Group and the Division required </li><li>Ability to manage and supervise a diverse group of professional, support and student staff as well as coaching or mentoring to foster their learning and development required </li><li>Ability to organize, prioritize and accomplish multiple tasks simultaneously preferred </li><li>Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with faculty required </li><li>Proven ability to work effectively with diverse populations preferred </li><li>Attention to detail and ability to follow through and meet deadlines preferred </li><li>Demonstrate effective leadership abilities and serve on policy and advisory committees/councils/boards concerned with disability issues required </li></ul>
