<p>Oversees the business operations of the grant to ensure the integrity of financial processes and compliance with applicable regulations. Provides guidance on institutional and federal requirements to support effective program administration and maintain adherence to funding guidelines.</p> <p>Major Duties</p> <ul> <li>Provides leadership and vision for the program and oversees the development of programs and activities for target populations. Researches best practices and emerging trends to enhance services and continually evaluates program effectiveness to ensure quality and impact. </li><li>Supervises program staff and oversees daily operations of the unit, including hiring, training, supervision, and evaluation of professional and student employees who support academic services and college preparation programming. </li><li>Serves as a liaison to the funding agency, campus partners, community organizations, and other external stakeholders. Represents the program within the campus community and develops marketing strategies to promote program initiatives. </li><li>Ensures financial and budgetary accountability for the program and seeks new funding opportunities to strengthen and expand program services. </li><li>Submits all required reports and communications to funding agency by required deadlines. </li><li>Assists in the collection of program data needed for evaluation. </li><li>Updates program website content using the University's content management system and ensures materials comply with institutional guidelines. </li><li>Monitors and ensures compliance with federal and state guidelines and regulations as well as University and departmental policies and procedures. </li></ul> <p>Minimum Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Master's degree in related field from an accredited institution. </li><li>Five years' relevant experience. </li><li>Supervisory experience. </li><li>Excellent written and oral communication skills. </li><li>Demonstrated success in communicating effectively with a diverse range of constituencies including staff, faculty, K-12 administrators, community members, and youth. </li><li>Experience working with first generation and low-income families. </li><li>Experience with budget management. </li><li>Experience with strategic planning. </li></ul> <p>Desired Qualifications</p> <ul> <li>Seven years' experience. </li><li>Experience with GEAR UP Partnership Grants or similar Pre-College Preparation and Readiness Projects. </li><li>Experience with Federal grants. </li><li>Experience evaluating programs and services. </li><li>Experience completing required reports for Federal grants including annual performance reports. </li></ul> <p>Special Instructions to Applicants</p> <ul> <li>External applicants should use the WMU - Application. </li><li>Internal applicants should use the WMU - Internal Application. </li></ul> <p>Additional Position Information</p> <ul> <li>Terminal position with possibility of renewal. </li><li>Western Michigan University offers generous benefits to its employees including health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, retirement, and tuition discount for the employee and tuition remission for eligible dependents.
