<p>Reporting to the Director, Sourcing - Capital/Paper, the Buyer will be responsible for the day-to-day purchasing activities surrounding all aspects of a fast-paced manufacturing facility including issuing Purchase Orders, assuring material is on-site for production, deferring and/or expediting orders as needed amongst other duties. Irving group of companies</p> </li><li> <p>Relocation costs (if applicable)</p> </li><li> <p>Responsible for the cost-effective delivery of goods or service that meet mill requirements.</p> </li><li> <p>Perform all routine purchasing functions including: prepare and place purchase orders and change orders; process requisitions; resolve discrepancies with requisitions, purchase orders, and invoices; solicit supplier bids; submittal of timely reports; communicate and implement purchasing policy; ensure on time delivery of quality materials, etc.</p> </li><li> <p>Manage procurement supply chain to achieve optimal quality, cost, and service to the company.</p> </li><li> <p>Analyze market conditions (ex. pricing, availability, lead time, and capacity).</p> </li><li> <p>Develop and implement commodity sourcing strategies.</p> </li><li> <p>Understand worldwide supply base for commodity groups.</p> </li><li> <p>Establish supply agreements as required.</p> </li><li> <p>Develop and maintain effective working relationships with all internal customers.</p> </li><li> <p>Critical relationship with maintenance team</p> </li><li> <p>Maintain the highest level of professional conduct and the confidentiality of supplier price information.</p> </li><li> <p>Liaison with corporate staff to implement common initiatives and goals.</p> </li><li> <p>Initiate and implement cost improvements and system improvements within the purchasing department.</p> </li><li> <p>Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience</p> </li><li> <p>3 to 5+ years of experience</p> </li></ul>
