This involves classifying products, monitoring and interpreting trade laws, preparing and filing import/export documentation, and conducting audits to prevent penalties and disruptions. They act as internal consultants and work with other departments like legal and logistics to manage risks associated with global trade.</p> <p>Core responsibilities</p> <p>Regulatory monitoring: Stay up-to-date on changing trade laws, tariffs, and sanctions to ensure compliance.</p> <p>Product classification: Determine the correct Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) codes for products to ensure correct duties are paid.</p> <p>Documentation: Prepare and manage all necessary import and export documents, such as customs declarations and certificates of origin.</p> <p>Auditing: Conduct internal audits of trade practices and procedures, and respond to government inquiries or post-entry adjustments.</p> <p>Risk management: Advise on and implement strategies to minimize risks, such as those associated with export controls and supply chain security.</p> <p>Internal consultation: Serve as an expert resource for other departments like legal, logistics, and sales on trade-related matters.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <p>Skills and qualifications</p> <p>Strong knowledge of international trade laws, customs regulations, and logistics.Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.Demonstrated attention to detail to effectively review Supplier Exceptions to Terms and Conditions and provide direction to Buyers on what Electric Boat can and cannot accept Demonstrated interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with all levels of managementDemonstrated ability to handle multiple projects and adjust to changing prioritiesDemonstrated ability to analyze, think critically, and determine practical solutions to compliance issuesDemonstrated ability to develop and implement proceduresProficient verbal and written communication skills; work product sample to demonstrate proficient writing ability desired</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Required:</p> <p>Bachelors Degree in business administration, finance, accounting, law, or a related field such as Economics, Public Administration, or International Business2+ years of related experience such as involvement in administering contract/subcontract compliance activities and/or international trade compliance activitiesProficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word and Excel) Applicant must possess or be able to secure secret or higher DOD clearancePreferred:</p> <ul> <li>1+ years related experience such as administering/managing US Government contracts, administering/managing procurement contracts, and/or supporting procurement contracts or activities </li><li>Knowledge of International Traffic in Arms Regulation (ITAR), Export Administration Regulation (EAR), Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), and other import/export regulations </li><li>Experience with Contract and/or Terms and Condition Negotiations </li><li>DoD procurement and/or contacting experience/experience </li></ul>
