<p>Facility:</p> <p>Dayton Children's - Main Campus</p> <p>Department:</p> <p>Pediatric Critical Care Team</p> <p>Schedule:</p> <p>Full time</p> <p>Hours:</p> <p>36</p> <p>Job Details:</p> <p>The Nurse Educator serves as an expert clinical practitioner who utilizes specialized knowledge, skill, research, and competency acquired through education and experience to collaborate within the multidisciplinary team to promote continuity of care for children and their families. The Nurse Manager assesses educational needs and subsequently develops and coordinates the education plan in collaboration with the Assistant Nurse Managers, Nurse Manager, and the Director.</p> <p>The Nurse Educator assists with the orientation and training of the new employees and/or those pulled in the unit from other areas; Participates in the Quality improvement process by providing input and completion of audits; Provides input on employee performance appraisals; Adheres to hospital policies, including but not limited to confidentiality, attendance, safety and infection control; Participates with DCH leaders to provide and improve health care services that are responsive to the community and patients' needs and improve health care outcomes in conjunction with the hospital mission.</p> <p>Department Specific Job Details:</p> <p>. The TCU Staff Resource Nurse serves as an expert clinical practitioner who utilizes specialized knowledge, skill, research and competency acquired through education and experience to collaborate within the multidisciplinary team in order to promote optimum care for patients and their families within the pediatric population. The Resource Nurse assesses educational needs and subsequently develops and coordinates the TCU education plan in collaboration with the Administrative Manager and the Director. The Resource Nurse coordinates the orientation of new nursing personnel. The Resource Nurse acts as a consultant to the patient and family, multidisciplinary team, institution and community in the specialty of pediatric and neonatal health. The Resource Nurse functions as a change agent, initiating and evaluating new trends in pediatric care. The Resource Nurse will lead the quality database process.</p> <p>Education Requirements:</p> <p>Bachelors: Nursing (Required)</p> <p>Certification/License Requirements:</p> <p>[Lic] RN: Registered Nurse (RN) - Ohio Board of Nursing, CPR: Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation - American Heart Association, PALS: Pediatric Advanced Life Support - American Heart Association</p>
