We welcome applications from individuals of all backgrounds and experiences and are committed to building a diverse and inclusive community.</p> <p>Position Title Assistant or Associate Professor of Biochemistry Position Number 897400 Position Category School/Division Hofstra College of Liberal Arts and Sciences-Natural Science Department Full-Time or Part-Time Full-Time Description</p> <p>The Chemistry Department at Hofstra University (www.hofstra.edu) invites applications for a tenure-track position in Biochemistry beginning September 1, 2026. Any area spanning experimental biochemistry will be considered. Successful candidates will be able to teach biochemistry courses (lecture and lab), general chemistry courses (lecture and lab) and will have the opportunity to teach other courses in their area of expertise. A typical teaching load alternates between 2 and 3 courses per semester. The Chemistry Department serves only undergraduate students, with small class sizes (10-20) for junior and senior majors. The Chemistry Department offers undergraduate degrees in Biochemistry and Chemistry (with ACS accreditation), as well as Forensic Science.</p> <p>In addition to their teaching responsibilities, the candidate will be expected to establish a vibrant research program centered on undergraduates and seek grant funding. Intra- and extramural research collaborations are strongly encouraged. The candidate will also provide service to the department, college, and university.
