<p>SENIOR ACCOUNTING MANAGER</p> <p>DESCRIPTION</p> <p>The Senior Accounting Manager is a technically strong, hands-on accounting leader responsible for ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of the company's financial records and reporting. This role oversees the general ledger function, manages the accounting team, and plays a lead role in the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes. The Senior Accounting Manager ensures compliance with GAAP, maintains effective internal controls, supports audits, and handles more complex accounting matters while providing strong leadership and guidance to the accounting team.</p> <p>RESPONSIBILITIES</p> <p>60% Financial Record Keeping & Accounting Oversight</p> <ul> <li>Prepare, review, and approve asset, liability, revenue, and expense entries by compiling and analyzing accounting information. </li><li>Maintain and ensure the accuracy of general ledger accounts through review of postings, reconciliations, and resolution of discrepancies. </li><li>Oversee the fixed asset accounting process, including capitalization, depreciation, disposals, and adherence to company policies. </li><li>Manage, train, and mentor the general ledger accounting team, review work for accuracy and completeness. </li><li>Ensure consistent application of accounting policies and procedures across the organization. </li><li>Assist with documentation, maintenance, and monitoring of internal controls. </li><li>Serve as primary audit contact - support internal and external audits, including preparation of PBC schedules, responses, and follow-up on findings. </li><li>Drive efficient, low-friction audits resulting in minimal audit adjustments and timely completion. </li><li>Assist with providing information for tax filings and corporate reporting requirements. </li><li>Evaluate and document accounting treatment for new or complex transactions in coordination with technical accounting and leadership. </li></ul> <p>30% Period-End Close & Financial Reporting</p> <ul> <li>Lead and oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes to ensure timely and accurate completion. </li><li>Own close calendars, task assignments, and review timelines to ensure completion within defined close deadlines. </li><li>Review balance sheet and income statement account reconciliations and close schedules. </li><li>Prepare and review journal entries and supporting documentation for period-end close. </li><li>Analyze period-end results, identify variances, and investigate unusual activity. </li><li>Oversee expense accruals and ensure proper cut-off working with multiple departments. </li><li>Maintain close calendars, deadlines, and documentation standards. </li></ul> <p>10% Other Duties & Special Projects</p> <ul> <li>Partner closely with FP&A to support variance analysis, forecasting inputs, and clear explanations of financial results to leadership. </li><li>Collaborate with Legal, Operations and other stakeholders on cross-functional accounting matters. </li><li>Provide support for ad hoc accounting analyses and management requests. </li><li>Assist with implementation of new accounting standards or updates to existing policies. </li><li>Identify, design, and implement process improvements to reduce manual effort, improve scalability, and mitigate risk. </li><li>Support accounting system enhancements and integrations. </li><li>Perform other duties as assigned to support the accounting function. </li></ul> <p>SKILLS & TECHNICAL EXPERTISE</p> <ul> <li>Strong general accounting skills and in-depth knowledge of GAAP. </li><li>Strong understanding of internal controls and audit best practices. </li><li>Extensive experience with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close. </li><li>Strong organizational and analytical skills with the ability to research and reconcile complex accounting issues with minimal oversight. </li><li>Clear written and verbal communication skills across accounting, finance, and operational teams. </li><li>Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain accuracy. </li><li>High level of ownership, accountability, and attention to detail. </li></ul> <p>QUALIFICATIONS</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required (or equivalent experience). License CPA preferred. </li><li>7+ years of professional accounting experience, including 2+ years in a supervisory role. </li><li>Strong leadership skills, including coaching, performance management, and development of team members. </li><li>Experience serving as a primary point of contact for external auditors. </li><li>Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office tools (advanced Excel skills required).
