<p>Clean Harbors is looking for a first shift Radiation Safety Officer (RSO). The RSO is responsible for providing direction and support for the facility's radiation safety program and general H&S support to assigned operations including providing guidance to management and direction to various personnel on implementing Health & Safety Programs. Responsible for promoting continuous safety improvement, acting as the key radiation safety technical expert in the Company, supporting and assisting in other H&S needs throughout the company, including conducting safety audits and inspections, record- keeping, industrial hygiene monitoring and assessments, equipment inspections, safety performance tracking and reporting, safety and health training, incident and accident investigation and tracking and program development.</p> <p>Salary: $98,160 to $147,240 based upon experience with an opportunity for a 15% bonus</p> <ul> <li>Provide radiation consultation services to other divisions; Work closely with various managers and other personnel to address health and safety issues in the region, radiation safety program throughout the company, and drive program implementation. </li><li>Audit performance and compliance with policies, programs, and procedures and as required from the facility's permits. </li><li>Manage air monitoring and exposure assessment programs for employees; </li><li>Identify new health and safety programs needs or changes to existing programs; Assist in development and review of safety and health programs, particularly the radiation safety program. </li><li>Serve as a member of Health & Safety Committee(s) of designated facilities; Attend operations meetings to review health & safety concerns and issues: Assist operations in project H&S planning.10 </li><li>Advise and represent Company during regulatory actions. </li><li>Review and develop work and site plans. </li><li>Conduct on site health and safety audits and inspections; Manage air monitoring and exposure assessment programs for employees; Manage safety equipment inspection and testing programs. </li><li>Manage injury and accident reporting and follow-up. </li><li>Review and assist in preparation of safety work plans, site specific safety and health plans, Operations and Safety Evaluation checklists. </li><li>Manage employee safety training programs and deliver training as needed. </li><li>Respond in timely fashion to emergency response and other incidents. Provide health & safety assistance at these incidents. </li><li>Report accidents, incidents and other issues affecting health & safety to Manager on a timely basis; Provide weekly report to Manager. </li><li>Baccalaureate or higher degree in natural or physical science, health physics, radiological sciences, nuclear medicine, nuclear engineering </li><li>Has completed a structured educational program that included classroom training in the responsibilities of an RSO </li><li>Excellent knowledge of Federal and State Health and Safety regulations </li><li>Travel 10% </li><li>PC Skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) </li><li>Strong communication skills, including writing, management, and interpersonal skills and experience </li><li>Ability to manage multiple tasks, make decisions independently, anticipate and formulate a variety of solutions to health & safety issues, proactively identify safety and health issues and concerns </li></ul> <p>Equal Opportunity (EO) Statement</p> <p>Clean Harbors is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
