<p>Overview</p> <p>Responsible for managing a case load of Connecticut Workers' Compensation files. Responsibilities include pre-trial discoveries, drafting pleadings, communicating with involved parties, and presenting defense strategies in court. Maintains a solid understanding of AmTrust's mission, vision, and values. Upholds the standards of the AmTrust organization.</p> <p>Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li>Independently represents the Employer/Carrier before the assigned Judge of Compensation Claims and present witnesses and evidence at administrative hearings on litigated workers' compensation claims. </li><li>Analyzes complex legal and factual issues, conduct extensive, well-reasoned legal research, independently develop and present defense strategies on behalf of the Employer/Carrier. </li><li>Prepares pleadings, written discovery, motions and briefs in support of defense strategies. </li><li>Provides effective and timely communications, information, legal advice and other services to clients and claims professionals on legal and factual issues. </li><li>Position requires the use of independent judgment, research, litigation and analytical skills. </li><li>Assists in developing training materials for the WC claim department. </li><li>Works with the WC claim department and Law Department on special projects related to the practice of workers' compensation. </li><li>Communicates with the Office of the Judges of Compensation Claims, witnesses, opposing counsel and clients in a manner consistent with established office procedures. </li><li>Responsible for the prompt, efficient and effective disposition of assigned cases. </li><li>Keeps current with market trends and demands. Attends continuing legal education seminars in order to maintain high level of professional expertise. </li><li>Performs other functionally related duties as assigned. </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>Connecticut State licensed attorney</p> <p>Knowledge of Workers' Compensation statutes and its application.</p> <p>3+ years workers' compensation litigation experience</p> <p>The expected salary range for this role is $76,600-$135,000.00</p> <p>Please note that the salary information shown above is a general guideline only.
