<p>RN Case Manager - Absence Management</p> <p>Summa Health - Corporate Office</p> <p>Full-Time, Exempt, Benefit Eligible</p> <p>Schedule: 40 hrs/wk, First Shift, Monday - Friday, potential for hybrid</p> <p>Summa Health System is recognized as one of the region's top employers by a number of third party organizations, including NorthCoast 99. Exceptional candidates gravitate to Summa because of its culture, passion for delivering excellent service to our patients and families commitment to our philosophy of servant leadership, collegial working relationships at every level of the organization and competitive pay and benefits.</p> <p>Summary:</p> <p>Manages a case load of intermittent/continuous FMLA, and ADA claims in accordance with company policy, best practices, and government regulations (70%); Serves as the team's medical expert performing in-house reviews, coordinating transitional and full duty return to work opportunities, coordinating communication between the dept. and physician offices, and providing medical recommendations to bring (both occupational and non occupational) claims to resolution (30%).</p> <p>Formal Education Required:</p> <p>a. Registered Nurse (RN)</p> <p>b. Graduate of a program of professional nursing that is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN)</p> <p>c. Current license to practice registered nursing in the State of Ohio</p> <p>Experience and Training Required:</p> <p>a. Three (3) or more years of case management experience including both occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses</p> <p>b. Experience in management of FMLA and ADA claims.</p> <p>c. Demonstrate knowledge of FMLA, ADA and Ohio Workers' Compensation regulations.</p> <p>Other Skills, Competencies and Qualifications:</p> <p>a. Population Specific Competency: Ability to effectively interact with populations of patients/customers with an understanding of their needs for self-respect and dignity.</p> <p>b. Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment</p> <p>c. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and written</p> <p>d. Ability to accept and institute change</p> <p>e. Ability to work independently, prioritizing projects, using good organization and time management skills.</p> <p>f. Ability to effectively interact with employees with an understanding of their needs for self-respect and dignity</p> <p>g. Working knowledge of basic computer applications</p> <p>h. Working knowledge of current human resources/workers' compensation laws, regulations and guidelines (e.g. FMLA, OSHA, etc.).</p> <p>i. Possesses technical and/or PC skills sufficient to have working knowledge of multiple software packages, i.e., Compensate, Outlook, Word, UKG, etc.</p> <p>j. Knowledge of medical causation and relatedness, as well as medical treatment protocols/MD guidelines.</p> <p>k. Customer service and relationship management focus with ability to collaborate and develop strong working relationships with multiple levels of the organization including managers, union representatives, physicians, hospital departments, vendors, attorneys, etc.</p> <p>Level of Physical Demands:</p> <p>a. Many factors, such as years of relevant experience and geographical location are considered when determining the starting rate of pay. We believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members when determining offers. Please keep in mind that the range that is listed is the full base salary range.
