<p>Duties</p> <p>For a complete list of duties and responsibilities, please see the job description linked here.</p> <p>Qualifications</p> <p>The successful candidate will possess:</p> <ul> <li>successful classroom teaching and administrative experience </li><li>a commitment to success for all students </li><li>aptitude for working with middle level learners, their parents and staff </li><li>excellent interpersonal, communication and collaborative leadership skills </li><li>an understanding of school improvement processes that increase student achievement </li><li>knowledge of curriculum, instructional practices and assessment </li><li>the capability to collaborate with staff to create a positive and supportive school culture built on a foundation of trust </li><li>strong team-building skills </li><li>experience supporting professional development and growth </li><li>experience working with budget development and long-range planning </li><li>knowledge of special education and the developmentally appropriate continuum of services for middle school students </li><li>the ability to successfully engage the staff, parents and community in the life of the school </li><li>strong organizational and problem-solving skills </li><li>the ability to foster a caring and respectful learning environment </li><li>an understanding of how effective leadership can improve instruction and student learning </li><li>evidence of effective, collaborative relationships with staff, parents, students and community </li><li>a solid understanding of the effective use of feedback within the supervision and evaluation process for staff </li></ul> <p>The principal will be responsible for staff evaluations, teacher coaching, professional development, school leadership, school improvement planning, resource allocation, supervision of extra-curricular events and activities, as well as coordinating staff and managing the school. Additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned by the Superintendent and Board of Education as necessary.
