This position involves working alongside professional colleagues to enhance classroom instruction and provide individualized or small-group support for students, including English language learners and those with special needs.</p> <p>Key Responsibilities</p> <ul> <li> <p>Assist in individual, small-group, or large-group instruction under teacher supervision. In this role, much of the support for instruction will occur on building work sites.</p> </li><li> <p>If assigned to work with students with special need, implement accommodations and supports specified in students' IEPs.</p> </li><li> <p>Facilitate classroom routines and provide additional support to facilitate instruction and learning, including organizing materials.</p> </li><li> <p>Communicate effectively with teachers, students, and staff to support learning objectives.</p> </li><li> <p>Promote a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment for all students.</p> </li></ul> <p>Qualifications</p> <ul> <li> <p>Experience in building and construction required.</p> </li><li> <p>Possess or have the ability to acquire appropriate licensure in Illinois to serve as a paraprofessional</p> </li><li> <p>Paraprofessionals meet qualifications by possessing either of the following:</p> </li><li> <p>A Short-term Approval as a Paraprofessional (Reference this ISBE document for information)</p> </li><li> <p>A Paraprofessional Educator Endorsement (Reference this ISBE document for information)</p> </li><li> <p>A Substitute teacher license (Reference this ISBE document for information)</p> </li><li> <p>A Professional Educator License</p> </li><li> <p>Prior experience in an educational or child care setting is beneficial</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to work collaboratively and follow teacher instructions.</p> </li><li> <p>Strong communication and organizational skills.</p> </li><li> <p>Commitment to maintaining professionalism, punctuality, and confidentiality.</p> </li><li> <p>Willingness to complete required licensure and training, including Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI).</p> </li><li> <p>Ability to meet physical requirements, such as assisting with mobility needs when necessary.</p> </li></ul> <p>Compensation and Benefits</p> <ul> <li> <p>Competitive hourly wage based with a starting rate on the Teacher Assistant Salary Schedule at Step 0 with no experience as a teacher or paraprofessional or Step 1 with one or more years of experience as a teacher or paraprofessional</p> </li><li> <p>Comprehensive benefits package for full-time employees.</p> </li></ul> <p>Position Pay Range:</p> <p>Teacher Contract - Salary Schedules</p> <p>Position Benefit information:</p> <p>Teacher Contract - Benefits</p> <p>Candidates may contact:</p> <p>Mark Hibner, Applied Technology Department Chair at</p> <p>mhibner@d211.org</p>
