<p>Apply</p> <p>Description</p> <p>Summary/Objective</p> <p>The Material Handler provides customer satisfaction in accurately processing customer orders, shipping, receiving, intra-company transfers, and inventory counts.</p> <p>Essential Functions</p> <p>Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.</p> <ul> <li>Operate a forklift, two-wheel hand cart, and scales. </li><li>Retrieve stock to fulfill orders. </li><li>Check outgoing and incoming shipments for accuracy. </li><li>Check orders for accuracy. </li><li>Inspect goods for defects and report damaged or defective material/product to the supervisor or sales staff; no damaged product is to be sent out. </li><li>Place compiled/completed orders in appropriate designated areas. </li><li>Monitor movement and progress of orders to ensure timely delivery. </li><li>Order picking, packing, wrapping, labeling product, and shrink-wrapping orders that are palletized according to standard operating procedure, making note to follow any special instructions on orders with customer-specific requests. </li><li>Keep work area clean, safe, organized, and maintained by following the 6 S's (Sort, Straighten, Shine, Standardize, Sustain, and Safety). </li><li>Load finished product/orders onto trucks. Transport stock from storage to warehouse or where needed. Load or unload material inbound or outbound. </li><li>Open bales, crates, and other containers. </li><li>Assist in the counting of physical inventory. </li><li>Wear the proper safety equipment and abide by safety rules at all times. </li></ul> <p>Requirements</p> <p>Competencies (Knowledge)</p> <ul> <li>Ability to follow instructions from management. </li><li>Knowledgeable in TFI/OSHA Safety requirements </li><li>Communication Proficiency, both verbal and written. </li><li>Organization Skills </li><li>Mathematical Skills </li></ul> <p>Supervisory Responsibility</p> <p>This position has no supervisory responsibilities.</p> <p>Work Environment</p> <p>This job operates in a warehouse setting, with some outdoor exposure during the workday. This role routinely uses warehouse equipment such as forklifts, hand trucks, box cutters, and tape dispensers.</p> <p>Physical Demands</p> <p>The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.</p> <p>While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, or kneel. The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb, or balance. The employee must regularly lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh 95 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.</p> <p>Expected Hours of Work</p> <p>This is a full-time position. Typical days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00</p> <p>p.m. Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during the "core" work hours of 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Overtime is required as dictated by the workload.</p> <p>Travel</p> <p>No travel is required for this position.</p> <p>Required Education and Experience</p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalent. </li><li>One to two years' previous warehouse experience. </li></ul> <p>Preferred Education and Experience</p> <ul> <li>Two to three years' previous warehouse experience. </li><li>Forklift Certified. </li></ul>
